  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I bought a 2010 3.8 Genesis sedan (tech package) last week in Alabama and drove it back to Georgia 160k. Passed emissions with flying colors. Me and my buddy inspected and it almost everything looks new. Hyundai dealership gave me details of work done over phone.

Have a few things to do to the car / have already done:
  • I pulled the Key out of the fob and its not even cut. Im guessing I should get a cheap key that will just open the door, another fob and get the one I have cut.
  • Car squealed a little when backing up slowly, so I replaced the front brake pads (ceramic golds at advanced.) . Pads looked like they had a lot of life left - why is the indicator so high? I replaced anyway and the squeak is gone.
  • windshield is cracked. Have to replace, but how much should I expect? I was told the sensors on this thing are in the wipers, not the windshield??? Bs or nah?
  • Going to swap badges (link for full kit?)
  • Dash is cracked up. Can I even fix this without buying a new one? Anyone know the price?
  • Needs some clips for front, right bumper
  • Stock rims have some scuffs and a few deep grooves
  • Rip in driver seat

Got the car for really cheap. So it was def worth it.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

All of the car reviewers that say this car isn't really luxury must be spoiled because this is one of the best cars i've bought. Super happy with it.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Search the junkyards (call around) for some of those items. Also, stop by an auto upholsterer for ideas and estimates on the dash and seat issues.

By the way, there are interior and exterior repairs guys who travel from dealer to dealer to touch-up new and used vehicles. You can easily find them by driving though car dealer lots. Or, just ask your Hyundai dealer when his guy will be on premises. These privately-owned small business touch-up guys can do wonders for making your vehicle look better at a very reasonable price. You pay them cash directly and they can often do a small repair like a dash crack immediately.

The 3.8 V6 has solid lifters and those should be checked and adjusted as needed. See your manual.
