  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Dear Community, !!!!100 Dollar Reward!!!!

After 10 years of driving the same beater (16-26) I finally got a new to me car. I purchased a 2009 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 Base Model with a SALVAGE TITLE. I knew this at the time but did not realize the implications it could have with insurance later. The price I paid for the car was $7,900. Fast forward to now.. someone hit me 3 months ago and I am now in this long drawn out process of going back and forth with the insurance over the value of the car. They have me at $5,200.

I have begun to send them comps but I NEED MORE!!

I loved this car and although I probably paid too much. I just need to be closer to 6-7k then $5200...

So I am willing to Venmo someone up to $100 dollars for their assistance in finding comps for me..

The offer is about right for a salvage title.

That $5200 offer is more than fair. It does no good to find comps unless they also have bad titles. To be honest you failed to do the research you should have done before buying a branded title car. AND you paid way to much for it. The only hope you have is that you had collision on it thru your insurance policy and can file a claim with them and let them also establish a value at which point if that new value is in your favor have them (your insurance company) pay you then let them fight it out with the other company.
Happens more than ever, folks get a "Bargin" on a car with branded title and never realize the car isn't worth squat if something happens to it, like it gets totaled. I know of one major insurance company, large one at that, if you don't disclose the fact the car you are insuring has a bad title, and then have a loss, they will cover the damage you did to the other car, if your at fault, and not pay you a penny for yours, non-disclosure is a bitch.
