  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Thinking it’s time to replace the windshield wipers on my 2016 Ultimate, wondering which would be better OEM or aftermarket units?
Price doesn’t really matter just wondering with all the choices out there which would be best?

I like the Bosch Icon I just put on. I've also used RainX in the past.

Consumer Reports stopped testing wiper blades years ago after finding they were pretty much the same regardless of price. All worked well when new, but deteriorated over 6 months or so and required replacement in order to restore proper clearing of the windshield. They're easy enough to change yourself once you learn the secret (in the manual) of getting them to rise up and stop. Turn off the ignition and immediately press down the wiper stalk and hold it until the wipers lift.

You can buy the rubber only from the dealer or a dealer website, a lot cheaper than the aftermarket that forces you to purchase the whole arm, additionally I have found most of the aftermarket ones don’t properly retract or fit and they don’t seem to clean as well, tend to skip and bounce especially at highway speeds.

I change mine every June and December on all my cars and just buy the oem rubber from hyundaipartsdeal.com

Bought the IKON's and they're still going strong after 18 months.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Whatever you do don’t buy blades advertised as 2 year replacements. They’re loud squeaky blurry wastes of money.

PIAA Silicon inserts and reuse the factory arms. The factory arms fit the windshield best and the silicon blades lasted me 3 years so far in Vancouver where it rains 10 months of the year.

Silicon blades also deposit silicon on the windshield as it wipes. No more need for rainx.

Looking for replacements for my 2015 any trimming or adjustment necessary or do they slide right in? I am in Canada as well, where do you order them from?

I order from the US Amazon site, I ship it to my WA state mailbox and pick it up from there..

Amazon.com: PIAA 94065 Silicone Wiper Blade Refill, 26" (Pack of 1): Automotive

Amazon.com: PIAA 94040 Silicone Wiper Blade Refill, 16" (Pack of 1): Automotive

No tools needed, I did everything casually at my GF's place in about 30 mins... old ones slip out, slip in the new ones and done...

thanks SuperKing I looked around, I found that I can get them at a Canadian site (Action Car and Truck Accessories) for around the same price after the dollar conversion and without the ridiculous shipping costs of cross border shopping

I just put on a set of Rain X Silicone blades from my local Auto Zone - Had zero issues with arms keeping contact & they wipe great. My recent 2000 mi road trip in various conditions would have exposed any flaws...

Ditto here. Rain X blades from WalMart work well on my 2015.

Bosch Icons for my Genesis. Two years and going strong with no streaks or squeaks.

I went with the Bosch before and while they work great they just don't look as good on the car as the OEM since they did not come to a complete rest under the hood and out of sight. If you go with OEM replacement be advised that there are replacement wipers with the flying " H " logo on them that fits the Genesis but they also don't sit completely out of sight as the non logo ones. Per my dealer they are the same but they are not the same just compatible so I make them find or order me the correct ones for the Genesis. Lately since my dealer is going all in on Genesis sales they have had the non logo ones in stock and I want to say they were about $12 each so that's not bad.
