  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just noticed today there is an on/off button showing a trunk pictogram in the glove box. What exactly does this do? Mine was set to the on position.

You can deactivate the trunk opener with that button, and then lock the glove box with your metal key. Keeps stuff in the trunk locked when you valet park.

Mucho thanks, ;)

i got upgraded one time on a rental car from a midsize, to a Toyota Avalon.
The only catch was that the trunk wouldnt open.

No prob I said.

Opened the glove box, pressed the button, and voila!

Neat feature that many dont know about.

Read and study the manuals, the car has a lot of features that you may then discover.

thats great and all but thats what the forum is for. in our lexus forum there is a thread that specifically lists hidden features that may not be known to everyone. might be the worst car community ive ever been apart of. thanks for your 2 cents.

Try this one:) It's not well diverse, but a good start if people start and continue to post in the thread.

Mods, maybe make this one a sticky??

Your key fob has a silver button on it. Press that and the metal piece will slide out of the black plastic part. Voila, your car key! Also good for opening your car if the battery is dead.
Good info. Just 2 years late. lol
