  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 Insurance Rates

Hey guys (gals) - a 3.3T for me (45 y/o male) is only ~$950/year (I didn't quote the 2.0T) with great coverage ($250 deductibles and very high uninsured motorist due to umbrella policy). We only have one other car, live in suburban Atlanta.
Note that my wife scraped another car in a parking lot five years ago, and that was surcharging us about $700/year (crazy) spread across the two cars.
Good price, especially near a big city.

I'll -re-post to this thread 20 years in the future and i'll show you guys what's a good price...hah

Yes with 500k/500k coverage . Age 46 and Very high credit score. Car is leased. Keep your nose clean young friends !

Pfffttt.....56 in PA,no accidents, no tickets, 815 credit score, have a 2016 sedan, paying $1000 a year for full coverage. HTF do you pay half on a newer car....I never get good deals like this

Based on my work with spooky agencies, I'll tell you that credit score has nothing to do with car insurance.
Although now sh_theads like Allstate use car insurance (incidents) to increase home insurance rates.

Food for thought:

My 2019 G70 3.3T Sport - $1,361 per year (Was $57.5K new)
2020 G70 3.3T Sport - $1,334 per year ($58K new)
2020 Tesla Model 3 Long Range - $979 per year ($78K new)

I thought people told me Tesla was more???

BTW, this is in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Where it is currently 32 degrees celsius below zero. But sunny...

Is this in Canadian dollars ?

Not sure. I was with nationwide and Allstate previously and was around 350 every six. Progressive shocked me.
I can Assure others though credit score is a big factor in insurance. It’s called a credit based insurance score.

by the way newer cars can be cheaper than older cars due to safety factors. A cars theft rating is a big factor too. Like a civic. Those get stolen a lot.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Credit score age and driving record are biggest factors. Those rates seem outrageous to me. Progesssive here. $190 for six months total.

Oh dang! We're in the same area and I'm paying about $300 for my six month with full coverage. But, it's only my G70 and my wife's WRX on our coverage (ie $300 each car, so $600 total). Supposedly I'd get bigger discounts with more cars. My credit score is pretty good (~800), but I bet once I pass 40 it might cost me less. Even so, I think my coverage premium is fair.

It’s very fair!

G70 3.3t (black) color plays a part occasionally
USAA
$275 monthly
Georgia has some of the highest insurance rates anywhere in the country. Been that way for years.

Have you had to renew your insurance for 2020 yet?
Mine jumped $400 a year...No claims, no demerits, over 20 years of clean driving, also in Edmonton.

Heck if my 2020 does that I’ll be shopping around again. On new car policies you generally get a one time discount. At renewal that new policy discount usually goes away but should not be a large hit. I’m paying about $410 for 6 months and also getting multi car discount. Policy changes much I’ll be quote hopping again.

Not yet, but I have been reading the horror stories. I may have to enjoy it while it lasts.

Male, 30 years old, Chicago with a clean record. For full coverage Geico wanted a rather ominous sounding $666 for 6 months. Switched to Progressive, and now paying ~$410 every 6 months AND that includes gap insurance, which Geico does not even offer.

$353 every 6 months, in Ky, Allstate, Male, 56, 2019 G70 3.3T AWD. I also have an umbrella policy, home and multiple rental properties with them, might have helped some. Also, never any wrecks.

On a different subject....
I'm not going to plug that "drive wise" thingy into this car! I have them on other vehicles and get a few dollars back every year. I didn't plug it into my Hellcat either.

I thought drive wise installed on phone and not into OBDll port? I use a similar app from Travelers so I could get all discounts available that does work with my phone. In sport mode that damn app lights up with all kinds of crap I get dinged on. I just tell it wasn’t me driving so it takes that trip away. Any device that plugs into vehicle stay away from for I have heard from some that had their ECM screwed up with engine codes being thrown.

I've had it in 4 cars over the past few years, no ECM issues so far.

Texas did this like 2 years ago. According to my mom, in the insurance business, said was that insurance companies realized how expensive new cars, with all the electronics and gizmos and painted bumpers, are to fix. So there was a market correction.

I mean, a 5mph "crash" is 2k to fix these days. Someone has to pay for it
