  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

First and foremost...ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!:D

Ok...Friday, cruising down I-65, I passed a car and turned my blinker on to merge back to the right hand lane and the lights start flashing....rapidly???? WHAT? Now, every time I turn on my right blinker the lights will flash about 3 times. Not just a flicker...but OFF and ON.:o

Saturday, shopping extravaganza! Wanted to change the radio station via Voice Control. Pushed the button...BAM, blank screen...nothing for the rest of the day.:(

Sunday, walking to car after church...BAM...a huge paint bubble where the front bumper meets the right fender.

Sunday lunch...at granny's. HUGE dip to turn into the street. You have to take it catty cornered otherwise you would scrape. I GET STUCK!!!! WHAT??? The right wheel was spinning freely and the LSD never kicked in. I could not even rock the car. I had to get my brother-in-law to come and push me!

Needless to say...one day this week we are headed to see the doctor.

I just felt like sharing all of this information to vent some major frustration before I show some to the dealership. All in all, I am a pleasure to be around but very stern when needed.

Wow, that sucks!!! I hope it all gets sorted out....that's quite a few issues to have all at once. Some of these electronic glitches scare me as I keep waiting for problems (based on other posts here), instead of just enjoying my car. As the first Genesis Sedan owner on this site and one of the first in the U.S. mine is an early build model, which as everyone knows, can be prone to more problems. So far, so good (fingers crossed).

As for the bumper paint issue, my car had the same issue. It started peeling/bubbling in a very small area (approx. 1") where the bumper meets the fender on the drivers side. I had my bumper repainted under warranty approx. 1 year ago and it turned out great (I was worried about the Hyundai dealers body shop being able to color match the metallic paint as well as the factory, but they did a GREAT job).

Good luck!!

First off, congratulations on the Tides. Although I would have liked the Gators to win, the Tides were the much better team. Also, I felt that Tebow was starting to believe all the hype they were saying about him before the game. Now he got a touch of reality. (There are a lot of Florida State fans who are very happy, as they say that their favorate team is Florida State, and their second favorate team is WHOEVER IS PLAYING FLORIDA).

Sorry to hear about your Genesis problems, all at the same time. As for my two previous problems, they are both corrected, and so far, no more problems (knock on wood;)) Car ran great coming out here to COLD Roswell. Will return to Mount Dora (Orlando area) in a couple weeks.

Fwiw, for the LSD to lock, both wheels must be moving, with one spinning - it won't lock if you're stuck. Did you get the car stuck on the road? The rest of that sucks though - let us know what the dealer says about the lights. It almost sounds like a dead battery/power issue.

Really....I did not know that! HA! I learn something new everyday!

Yes, it was paved, no off-roading in the Gen. I guess the frame is unbelievably stout...so much so that the rear wheel was completely off the ground. Of course I took it slow...as I always have, but this time I guess it was too slow:o

I guess from my "4 wheel drive" days I am use to getting out and locking the hubs...HA!

I don't know if you've seen this - great explanation on differentials.

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4JhruinbWc"]YouTube- How Differential Gear works (BEST Tutorial)[/ame]

Skip to the 2 min mark to get to the meat of it.

And a rough estimation of how LSD works, via lego:

And if you really want to get into it, you can check out the wiki page on LSDs, but the vids should give you an idea - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limited_slip_differential
