2nd Generation sedan HID to LED question

I've done some searching but cannot find much of anything on the subject. While the HID lights on my '15 are nice, I can't adjust them high enough for adequate, forward projection lighting. I see many others have a similar issue with their headlights. It also looks like my passenger side headlight is emitting a different color than the Driver's side. Not sure if replacing the HIDs with LED will help these issues. I see diode dynamics has a conversion kit, has anyone replaced their HID bulbs with LED bulbs?

I would recommend replacing with what the car came with from the factory.

Headlight Revolution has tested the available bulb replacement options to convert any HID to LED, but the results are poor at best from the 7 bulbs tested in the video below. The bulbs all have poor light output which is demonstrated in the video around the 5 minute mark. The available bulbs should improve in the future, but for right now we're kinda stuck with OEM HID. Last to mention is the stock power wire on any HID equipped vehicle will not plug directly into a new LED bulb, so cutting and modifying are needed. My '09 HID lights are pretty terrible compared to my '18 Outback LED headlights, so I feel your pain.

The HID lenses are intentionally made like that to limit dispersion of the light. They tend to put a lot of light on the field in a wide pattern but not far down the road until you turn the highbeams on. The highbeam reflector is typically designed to focus the light and throw it further down the road. The LED bulbs are terrible and they are really a nuisance to other drivers. One option you could do without annoying other drivers is upgrade your HID ballasts. The OE ballasts are usually 35w. They make aftermarket 55w ballasts that are cheap. In my experience though, they are only a modest upgrade in light output over the OE 35w units because of efficiency. There are companies who make offroad 70w-120w HID ballasts as well. You might have troubles with heat once you get into those and you could end up melting a headlight or something.

I need to adjust my 2015 ultimate low beam lights up a bit. It's easy to outrun them and scary in full dark.

I had to adjust mine as well. Started off by marking a screwdriver and adjusting in 1/2 turn increments. Ended up being 4 full turns to get the desired height and it's still somewhat lacking as far as light throw.
