  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Ok, I'm surprised there hasn't been much of any discussion about how this virus is impacting G70 production. I've got one on order and they are checking on status today (at least he said he'd call the district guy for an update.) So, anyway hear anything? I read about the harness issue that was stopping the line for a bit, but it was supposed to be resourced to Thailand or something and the line should be back up. Now with the virus surfacing in SK, I wonder if further impacts are in place of on the way. Selfishly, I hope my order is far enough along, but I suspect it isn't. Waiting impatiently......

Here's a Car and Driver article from about a week back titled, Coronavirus Unlikely to Affect Car Supply for Buyers in U.S., for Now. Key words being, "for Now".

Coronavirus Unlikely to Affect U.S. Car Shoppers, for Now
Yes, there are cars on lots and on ships, but that special one that you ordered may well be delayed. This is probably already out of date but they did update and it can change overnight.
UPDATE 2/18/20: Jaguar Land Rover told Reuters that it has enough parts from China on hand to keep producing its vehicles in Great Britain for two more weeks. After that, the supply will dry up and production might need to be paused.

A Hyundai supplier shut down over the weekend after the death of an employee and some workers at the Ulsan plant stayed home too. Hopefully it can be controlled soon.

I work in retail and theres already talks about impacts from our overseas suppliers. If this keeps going almost every industry is going to see some sort of impact. I also wonder....how long does this virus live on surfaces? Hopefully not long

I think I read somewhere that it was ~4 hours

Well, it's not like my order is all that special. It's just that there weren't any in the region, so ordering was the way to go: MBlue 3.3 AWD BrownNappa Prestige. Hope it clears quickly for all concerned, but between the media and the politics, who knows what really is the case.

Seems they are not quite sure. Also handwashing is recommended for prevention
How long can the new coronavirus last on surfaces?

Coronaviruses: How long can they survive on surfaces??

How long do coronaviruses persist?

The first section of the new paper focuses on how long coronaviruses can survive on inanimate surfaces, such as tables and door handles. The authors show that, depending on the material and the conditions, human coronaviruses can remain infectious from 2 hours to 9 days.

crazy stuff, I feel for our customs workers handling all these packages.

Guess we'll have to hold off on stuff like this:
