  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

can that be repaired or do I have to get the entire panel as the dealership is suggesting?

Auto shops typically don't have a well trained and experienced electronics technician that potentially can repair things like that. Depends on what is wrong with it and if a part is available.

I one had a circuit board on a machine go bad. My choices were a new board for $2500 plus shipping from Austria, send it to a specialty repair shop for minimum of $200 and a few days. I found a local guy that did TV repairs part time in his basement. He fixed is and asked if $20 was too much.

No one here can see your part so no one here can give a perfect answer. Dealer solution is simple. Replace it. Up to you if you want to take it for a better diagnosis.

What made me think that my encoder was out was the fact that: After the car has been started and you push down on the knob, the "initial " safty screen WOULD NOT dissappear. Nor can I change the commands. I knew the knob needed replacing but now even turning the part by hand - doesn't do anything.
I have been looking to replace ONLY the Navigation Control Panel OEM w/encoder but, having trouble finding.
