  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Last April I purchased 2nd set of oem wheels to add winter tires. My tire dealer did offer oem Hyundai wheel sensors so I went to e bay and purchased advertised oem Hyundai sensors from XUAN-AUTOPARTS; China. ONE YEARS WARRANTY! My dealer was unable to read the marked oem sensors and XUAN_AUTOPARTS; China said they were OK and had been pre-tested. Guess who believed them, ME? In September when they were installed in my new winter wheels they were defective, I paid to have them removed and sent back to XUAN-AUTOPARTS, China. E-bay; Pay Pal could not help me because the transaction had occured over 90 days after purchase. HYUNDA USA could care less as I purchased from China and they won't forward my info to HYUNDAI international, when I try to contact them I get USA! HYUNDAI USA: oem can be purchased only from authorized dealers. I would that they would be concerned about a large autoparts company in China selling fake products, but they don't seem to care. XUAN did admit they received my sensors but refuse to refund $100.69! My credit card company has not decided!

Why am I not shocked. Buying from some random CHINESE seller and expecting them to be legit is crazy.

Yeah, I sell under the name of Abraham Lincoln Auto Parts because you can trust Honest Abe. If it is a legit company they should refund or replace. My guess it is some guy in a cabin in the woods with a post office box.

no they are a real China autoparts with a real address which was provided by pay pal to me to return. I guess I am disappointed that e bay, pay pal, HYUNDAI are doing nothing to stop this company for selling oem defective parts

I have no idea how much control a Korean company has over a company in China. Maybe the same task force that goes after all the other fake stuff is the way to go.

There may be more to the story. Is there a step needed to program them that the dealer was unaware of? Could they be for a different model? Anything can happen but I don't see a major manufacturing company intentionally selling something they know does not work.

Caveat emptor.

Sniff-sniff...👃

Yep, I smell a case of stupid. :wallbash:

What do you want Hyundai to do? They know that fake parts are out there, and they have been fighting it for years. I've been with Hyundai for 18 years, and it's been an issue for as long as I can remember. There are really good fakes out there where the package looks almost identical to Hyundai's also. There isn't much they can do, except warn us dealers about it, and help us identify the fakes. I get companies all the time calling me trying to get me to buy super cheap "OEM" parts. If they get one supplier of fakes to shut down, another one will open right back up.
