Remote start

Any G70 people have these remote start options? My new 2020 G80 Sport does not.

This seems like a scam. They make a great car, with a remote start that does not work from the fob that after 3 years, you have to pay $300 plus per year to use it on your phone.

Yes. All USDM G70's have this, as long as you have an account with Connected Services.

My Canadian 2019 G70 has all but the seat heat functions. Anyone else have it for Canadian models?

It's always seemed odd to me that you can set the steering wheel to heat but not have any controls for the seat heaters/ventilation... Looks like the upper-end models get those privileges. Shame...

I never knew that! So on your app you have buttons to control the the heating and cooling of individual seats and you have a slide switch for additional features?

All should have the rear defroster. My 2011 Acura did that, seems basic.

I have the top of the line. No seat heat via the app. My guess is it's a safety feature... So you don't harm someone in the seat.

You could have someone sitting in the passenger seat who can't feel the heat, or move, and that could cause an issue. Far fetched, maybe, but litigatable.

Well anything is litigable. And how would this be any different than if the driver pushed the sync button and the passenger‘s seat heated up “against their will”. I think that you are arguing this for the sake of argument but with no realistic point.

In my line of work, I have people that routinely ask "Can I sue for _____?"

My answer is always "Yes, this is America. Anyone can sue anyone for anything. It doesn't mean your case is any good or won't be tossed out as frivolous by a judge, but that doesn't stop you from suing them."

While they are not "on the remote" as such, the heated seats in both of my wife's last 2 cars (2012 Chevy Cruze & 2017 Subaru Outback) came on automatically when the vehicles were remote started and the outside temp was below 40 degrees F or so. It is definitely a feature that Genesis could adopt...

A quick update on my message about the heated seats in my wife's Outback - the heated seats turn on automatically to the level they were on when the car was last turned off. My wife has adopted the habit of turning the driver's seat on when shutting the car down during the Winter...

Of my 8 cars with heated seats, only my 2010 Sonata let me do that. It was nice too on cold mornings.
