  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

MPH to KM/H

Bumping old thread. Anyone figure out how to convert the odometer to miles from kms? Friend of mine wants to start a Youtube channel where he buys a new car and drives a million miles in it. Being in Canada, the car will be in kms. When the odometer rolls over at a million kms, he's still got about 400k miles to go. He could just buy a US car but he'd be on the hook for local state taxes then the import duty and provincial taxes. He can't register and insure the car in the US because he's not a resident.

Should I just tell him to rename his channel to the 1.6 Million Kilometer Drive? LOL

I'm surprised it is not build into the setup. On my old Buick you just pushed a button when you crossed the border.

Generally, you don't need the Odometer to change, just the speedo and the speedo already has both metrics. A lot of older cars only had one set of numbers written on it so you need to convert when you cross the border but I don't think that button changed the Odometer. Not sure if it could either if the Odometer was mechanical.

Through the magic of electronics you can change everything. Even the instant mpg and distance to empty.

So in 2023

Any one know how to change the speed unit?
