  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Mapnsoft v14 on the Horizon

...Besides, you don't produce a major update for a premium brand and finish it up on the last day...

This new version isn't just for Genesis. It's for Hyundai and Kia too.

Guys keep in mind, the company responsible for this website and the software that we download is Mapnsoft. I'm not certain but Mapnsoft appears to be owned by Hyundai and has been responsible for the infotainment software in Hyundai and Kia cars for many years prior to Genesis/G70.
So, yes it is still Hyundai's problem overall, but there are so many child companies and independent departments/divisions that probably lack strategic planning and communication, which is unfortunately a massive issue when working with business & technology departments.

Things to ponder is all while we're all sitting at home :p

Also, yes pushing back release date of new code so last minute shows poor process on their development team mgmt. The large brand names get blamed/take the heat while the problem is much lower and sadly typically silent to the high ups. This is a big issue to customers who don't have a good experience with the website and software update process, but low on the list of priorities at the high level.

Edit:
Mapnsoft (technically "MNSOFT, INC" in USA) appears to be started back in 1998 as the software development entity for Hyundai and Kia vehicles across the world, but wasn't connected as a business to Hyundai until 2005 perhaps? They have their full company history on the site below:

Everyone seems to be focused on the web site not up to date. Note that the downloadable version is not ready yet. Some or part of the holdup could well be the child companies you bring up. There are the SD cards that have to be loaded, the mailers to be printed, the various versions to be sorted and inventoried, the center that actually does the mailing. Doubt many of those are designated as essential business and may have encountered a lot of delays along the way.

Maybe the guy that usually would load the SD cards is temporarily assigned to make toilet paper. So yes, ponder it but really think about all the things that have to come together under unusual circumstances.

(y) What Edp said. So many folks are not working, that want to be, that someone in this chain of events has to be affected. Just hold on everybody. This is a bad time, Everywhere. Stay at home, be safe, don't complain.

Then why would you do an web page up date a couple of days before you were going to put the upgrade on sale ?
NOT TO SMART

Because maybe it was necessary in order to put the upgrade on sale? Maybe not too smart to second guess without knowing all the facts.

The company I work for has hard times delivering product on time. Currently, work forces are unreliable. We're also delayed in receiving materials, which slows us down. It's a world-wide pandemic and huge economic impact - stuff happens.

The guy putting up the web page may be the only one able to maintain schedule. Many possible reasons. Flight delays from the virus may have impacted product last minute. Have you been to a grocery store recently? Ordered from Amazon? My last order had two item, one took a week, the other about 15 days. My former employer is having a hard time getting the trucks they need for deliveries to pharmaceutical customers.

Today, the website takes you to another screen where you can enter your VIN. No button to order the SD card yet, that will come April 27 apparently

Wow. Really big update with a lot of cool features! It wasn't really a big deal to me before but now I am kinda looking forward to getting it.

Oh man, we're getting Sounds of Nature? Now I'm really pumped for this!

Was able to put v14 in the cart and get all the way to checkout. Not sure if I ordered it or not. Hahaha

I did the same thing yesterday. I am sure it is not ordered because there was no way to enter billing info.
Today, it is just a blank page after selecting the brand.

Same, was able to select Ship Method but no complete click-box to Checkout.

They are definitely on track to get their deadline seems like.

But the dilemma will be to order v14 or wait for v14.5...

If it helps you make your decision, I’ll also be waiting for 14.5. I’m on 13.5 right now and don’t see the need to do it yet for these changes
