Get the map updated - cheaper / easier now

The V14 map update for Hyundai Genesis shows up on the site for $25 now .

I could not find the map update for 2015 Genesis - Jog Dial / Premium model . Expecting that also to be ~ 25$



Additionally they are saying soon all updates will be downloadable over net.

yeah there are a few threads on it, the site is boned right now and the update delayed until the 27th or later.

It lets you make an order and select shipping and doesn't add any update cost to it. Unfortunately, it doesn't allow any way to pay, so it can't be completed yet (so, all bets are still off) Total $29.70 for first class mail.

They have been free for 3 years for new Genesis owners. Don't count of free for anything else. Wait until the setup is done and ready.

I understood that to mean that you can download for free (in leu of paying for an SD and postage), not that the maps are free.

in other words, the maps will cost money, but they won't charge you to download them.. gotta love how marketing people twist words.

Hold on. I've gotten the updates mailed to me 2-3 times since I bought my car Feb 2019. At check-out there was a click-box to have Genesis pay the bill.

But, i guess if your outside the 3 year window, $$$.

That is correct in the US for first owner a Genesis less than 3 years old. It does not apply to older models, second owners and possibly others.

They have always charged $25 for the SD card. You can save that by downloading it onto your own. It will tell you what size you need.

I have trouble believing they’ll let you use any SD card. They’ll probably require you to use a serialized card (which you probably have) to prevent duplication.

Maybe they’re finally updating head unit security though, that would allow unserialized cards by pulling VIN. Not that we have root access to a head unit or anything

Why serialize the card when you can serialize the software with the VIN and encrypt the whole thing.

You can see the contents of the S3 bucket. It looks like it's everything public on their site. No clue on how to access it but could be something fun in there.

I just tried to go to the site & it locked up while trying to search for the download for Jog Dial. Finds "Touch" version...

Well, I'm now totally confused. Is there, or is there not a map update for my 2016 Genesis AWD Sdn that is downloadable to an SD card? And if so, how do I get it?
