Mapnsoft v14 on the Horizon

My comment earlier about 30 minutes update time was when I had the sd card sent from mapnsoft. Remove earlier card, install new card and follow instructions. Downloading to an existing card, as Tinsley said, adds a step and introduces another device (computer). Thus a longer time to complete. Still, 30-60 minutes seems to cover it.

Ok, dumb question. Where is the sd card located? I thought I insert a USB into the USB port.

Apparently they decided to make v14 a download, too, scheduled for a May 15th release date.

v14 is the version we've been waiting for. It was supposed to come out a few days ago, but when that day rolled around, they delayed it until April 27th. It probably had more to do with their new website being dysfunctional than an issue with the actual update.

The only reference to v14.5 was the message in the banner (which has since been removed) which stated that it'll be available for download in July. I'm not sure if that's still the case.

What?? I now realized i still on my original version since i got the car Jan last year. Here is where I am.
So, if i want to download any other version after this one where i can found it because the Mapnsoft website won't give you option for any previous to 14. I'm missing 12, and 13 obviously and the one mentioned for Global i can't find it.

Yep, they are gone. No reason to support them as every feature will be in the new one. Only option is to wait for the latest version to be available.

Nobody is doing much travelling right now anyway.

Why would you want any version other than the latest? The latest overwrites any prior version. It's not like they add together somehow. And the version numbers shown on the screen are not the same as the actual map version number.

Idling the car is slightly safer. If you got pulled over or had a wreck, you might have to turn off the engine. That could brick your radio. It's up to you.

My wife's QX50 took 1.5 hours...

Is just because I did not see option for downloading the 14 and only buying the SD Card with the latest one. So, until the 14 have the download option which originally suppose to be available until early July but looks now will be available May 15 so I can wait.

For v13 I ordered the SD card to update. It was free for me, as they charged Genesis. I figured it was the easier way to go about it for me. Will do the same for this one.

No, I’m not. I’m in Canada instead and ordering through the website at the checkout they will charge me minimum 49 CAD with the lower shipping option. There is a note clearly saying your credit card will be charged with mentioned amount. So I leaved it in the cart and contacted my Dealer rep. He will follow up with Genesis Canada on Monday since he is not sure how to proceed to get it but for sure has to come from them because is free. He said I should got at least more updated version than the current I have which should happened at the service check I did when reached my 10000 kms.

Changes are sequential no need to get previous versions.

Also you aren't very far behind. Download the PDF I attached and look at the version numbers.... That's like 12.5.

Maybe. You'd have to pay for the SD card and shipping. In the past there was a check box to bill it to Genesis. Unless they changed things, it was totally free in the past if qualified. I'll wait to find out.
