  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Get the map updated - cheaper / easier now

2 day delivery means from the day it ships, it does not take into account processing time.

delivery times are always quoted on the shipping services time to deliver from the day they receive the package in their hands NOT from the day you order it. Every industry that has distribution does it this way, the only exception is Amazon because they specifically note that their Prime delivery includes processing time if the item is stocked by, sold by, and shipped by Amazon. If it is third party the small print tells you delivery times do not include order processing times.
Well... Naturally. Guess I was a little weirded out about people getting confirmation earlier even though they ordered on the same day as I. I suppose I was worried about it being legit - $25 from $170 is a massive price drop.

I understand completely.. I would be the same way. Keep us posted on how it goes. Like you said 170 down to 25 ? I would be skeptical as well. 170$ is kind of high IMO. Thanks Skipgen!👍

You have the 5.0 Ultimate skipgen?
Yes, I do.

I don't believe that the previous owner ever updated the SW, so this will be a treat.

BTW, Did anyone notice that the install instructions were actually for a KIA K900...? I'm sure it's pretty much the same deal though.

I had the original software in my 15 when I got the car. Software the right term to use? Well anyway after I updated the system, it seems like I lost some bass? But the maps are really nice.🙂

Maybe they did the math and realized that they can sell more and make more profit selling it cheaper. Idk but I love it :)

Kinda makes you wonder why it's so cheap, because it appears to be a pretty comprehensive update as these things go...

Perhaps it's a Corona Discount?

Well, to be fair my tracking says "Your package is on its way to a USPS facility.", so it isn't actually on the way to me yet.

Maybe, but it sounds like the download may actually be free, when they have that in a few weeks. Hyundai in the UK gives map updates free for the life of the car (or at least 10 years). Are they going to do this in the US now? I would have expected a big ad campaign if so. I hope this isn't a one time glitch...

Well... if they're going to start doing it on the cheap, I'd be annoyed if I was one of those people that got bagged for $170 for the last few years. "Free" updates weren't extended to 2nd owners here in the US, neither was the 10yr/100,000mi powertrain warranties for that matter.

That's it. To save money, they outsourced the updating to China!

Beware!😲

So it looks like it works if you select USA but if you select Canada it does not give you an option to buy. Did anyone from Canada just order this. It is giving me the option to ship to Canada even if I select I bought the car in the US. Do you think the update will work also?

I was in the exact same boat. Every time I checked the status and saw "processing", I got a little more anxious that it really was too good to be true. Luckily my order finally changed to complete and should be shipping out soon!

Let get this right, $25 gets you the SD card and the USB stick?
