Ipod Cable Problem

I purchased an IPOD cable for my Genesis Sedan. I have found it difficult to pull the cable out as it is tight against the wall. I eventually broke it... the part that plugs into counsel split and I wasn't able to put together. Has anyone had the same problem?

I don't know if anyone has actually broken their cable, but it is obvious that it is difficult to install, and not the kind of thing that you would want to be taking in and out.
