In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. I was hoping somebody can help I have a 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan ultimate.
The AM FM had terrible reception I brought it to the dealer after multiple trips they finally replaced the antenna amplifier I do believe on the passenger side rear not the driver side one. it helped improve FM reception HD comes in beautiful the a.m. receptions okay but I've never seen AM HD radio work at all.
in the owner's manual which is specifically for the ultimate with the DIS knob it says it has HD AM. the dealership is telling me it does not according to the Hyundai tech line which I'm trying to prove to them they are wrong but I can't seem to find out if anybody else with the same vehicle has HD AM radio working. I previously had a 2015 Kia K900 with a very similar system in the a.m. HD radio worked beautiful.

When you're tuning AM stations, does your radio tune in 10Khz chunks or 50Khz chunks (I think 50 is the other possible size)?

Does Anyone Have An answer?
my car is back at the dealer and it would be a good time to have it fixed.
so far they are just telling me it only has FM Hd. no AM Hd even though it clearly states it in the owner manual.

my Vehicle is the Ultimate trim package.

thank you for any help

Yes, my 2015 had it, so should you.
Depends on where you are using it. Where I lived before there were no AM/HD stations. Of course the only time I listened to AM was the local news for 5 minutes and I'd be out of range shortly anyway. I did listen to a HD station once though, you are not missing much, IMO.

Oh, just to be sure I just checked here here. Of 5 AM stations, only one is listenable, none are HD.

To be honest... I didn't even know HD AM was a thing.

I don't have HD radio at all in my Ultimate... lol

My 2015 definitely had it and it did work though the HD AM stations were scares. Not sure if the Canadian models would very in that respect.

You’ve got to have the AMHD tower in your backyard basically to receive HD signal. The SNR is too low in most of the world to differentiate a digital signal from noise. It’s highly unlikely to find them except in huge cities. Put your location in here to see if one is close by, then drive to it.

HD radio is a menu option on an Ultimate:

The other thing that has to be done is align the tuners for the FM and AM receivers. That’s a dealer menu option under Dynamics>HD Radio>Align (on/off)

I’m not sure what the differences between AMHD and digital radio is. I put my ZIP Code into your app and it came up with 70 digital HD stations. I listen to several of them often and I find that the fidelity is better than Sirius or regular FM. Location, location, location. 😀

There's AM-HD and FM-HD. You're probably seeing FM stations.

The sound quality of FM-HD is about double that of Sirius. The caveat is that it's only better when there is a single HD channel per station- the more channels the more the bandwidth is divided. So a single channel HD station has triple the quality of a three channel station, while a 2 channel station is on par with Sirius.

I see now the bottom 3 are AMHD. I’ll have to try them when I’m in the car next time.

I found a few but I'd have to drive 30 miles to listen to them. HD is supposed to be better sound but they are talk radio so it does not matter much. One is Spanish so no good for me.

Fun facts:

FM-HD is roughly 96-120Kbps per station, which each channel divvying up the bandwidth. A single channel station will have the highest sound quality, but it can be divided into different structures:

HD-1 (MPS)HD-2 (SPS1)HD-3 (SPS2)HD-4 (SPS3)Mode
4848 Hybrid – 96 kbps
6432 Hybrid – 96 kbps
482424 Hybrid – 96 kbps
484824 Extended Hybrid – 120 kbps
643224 Extended Hybrid – 120 kbps
48242424Extended Hybrid – 120 kbps
32323224Extended Hybrid – 120 kbps

SiriusXM is roughly 35Kbps per channel although if they weren't so stingy they could push 64Kbps per channel. The more channels in their lineup, the crappier all of them will sound. The best thing that can ever happen is seeing a talk show channel getting shown the door, it improves the service for everyone.

thank you. i had a 2015 Kia K900 the AM HD worked great in Boston about 20-25 mile radius from the WBZ 1030 am. reapeater in Hull Ma.
the HD made am sound like FM for my commute. they do traffic, weather, and news every ten minutes.

the Hyundai dealer near me came up with a story about calling Hyundai regional and that they stated the ultimate 2015 Genesis only has FM HD. even though it states am hd in the owners manual and has the check box in the menu when on AM. and also goes in and out when i hit a bump which i can reproduce with a hard open hand slap on the dash.

its like pulling teeth to get anything done under warranty. i have the clicking fluttering noise from 27-30mph.
I have brought it to their attention multiple times. this time i specially told them the forums are stating its most likely the shaft assembly propeller.
hopefully they really look at it this time.
not holding my breath.

going to have to start sending emails to Genesis corporate soon.

i had a terrible run on this car when i bought it certified pre-owned from a dealer in Attleboro ma.
took about 3 month to get it resolved. in the end the dealer rated website review got them to fix it.

short list of problem at 15000 mile when i bought it.
power seat broken. sunroof gasket fell down, miss matched tires. front end alignment pulling to the left. high speed vibration, rear power window intermittent, plastic panels under car fell of on the highway, never got the 2nd key fob promised, one tire had a slow leak. drivers door gasket worn from ass rubbing in and out of the car. headlights way out of adjustment. to top it off a tech somehow hit the paint with a tire scuff air tool but denied it to this day. smooth right down to shiny metal like a rotary sanding disk.

i couldn't understand why so many problems at low mileage.

it was leased originally out of Brooklyn NY.
the previous owners left all the info on the radio.
they looked like well to do golfing and modeling.
it appears i got a lemon.
its in service now for the 2nd throttle body actuator assembly. in less than 8 month.
it now has 48000 on it.
and the sunroof gasket is falling down on the passenger side corner. but doesn't meet their criteria for replacement yet. it wouldn't be that bad if the dealerships actually wanted to do warranty work.
this car has been in service for approximately 46 days in 17 month.

sorry about the spelling and such. done on my phone.
thank you for all the input so far.

All FM-HD capable radios are AM-HD capable. It's not an "optional feature". The only reason someone wouldn't get AM-HD is because there isn't any or the radio can't differentiate signal from noise.

Yes it was but remember as stated station availability is spotty at best.
