If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I couldn't stop laughing, they have 6 base Palisade's marking up $10,000 for Dealer Market Adjustment, plus they are adding $1,000 for "Nitro Filled Tires"

^ That's ridiculous, but the Telluride (esp. the higher trims) has been selling for above MSRP in many markets.

Usually for a couple of grand more, but the highest I've seen is $7k above list.

I wouldn't want to be the guy a year or two from now who paid sticker for one of these, let alone above sticker. I wish people could have a little more patience and let these rot on the lot when a dealer does this.

I'd stay at the dealer just long enough to tell them what part of my anatomy they could kiss. There is not a car made that I'd even pay sticker for.

How do you know this ? I'm looking at their website and don't see any that are marked up

I doubt any dealer would EVER mention an addendum sticker online. Their goal is to get you in there with the most attractive price they can.

I've even seen where some dealerships (for their used cars) post one price online and a higher one on the window. They figure the people in the dealership either won't look online or will negotiate some off anyway.

took my car in for service and was walking the showroom and lot waiting for my loaner

I snapped some pictures of it, hang on a sec and I will upload.

My mistake it was $500 for nitro and $500 for "paint protection" and $2000 for something else but I can't recall what it was.

Well for that price it must be the good nitro, not the generic stuff. Hand picked molecules.

OMG, they have no conscience at all with those markups. I just cannot understand how anyone would even start negotiating with sleazy people like that.

Doesn't matter . . . unless the addendum sticker is for $300 for window tint (3M only) and a clear bra, ignore it or leave.

As for the nitrogen, several independent studies have proved nitrogen in tires doesn't benefit the average driver enough to warrant the cost. To top it off, your tires over time will become close to 100 percent nitrogen anyway. Why? Because the atmosphere is about 78% nitrogen to begin with and the smaller oxygen molecules will slowly work their way out of your tires over time leaving the larger nitrogen molecules behind.

Because there's a shit ton of stupid people out there who will buy them.

Hey, give the dealer at least some credit. They didn't sugar coat anything. It literally just says, "Added mark up". They're not lying.

I was there yesterday and saw they have massive addendums on all the Palisades. Over $10,000. total. A guy came up to me and asked if he could help me. I said, "No. I'm buying a Palisade this weekend, but I see you guys add on $10,000, so I already know what it would be like to do business with you." He yelled, "That's right!" as I walked away laughing.

their service department has been outstanding, I've used them for service because they were walking distance from my job, initially I cringed at using them, but the service department has been 4.5 Stars IMO. Sales.. not so much.

Twice I have dealt with their sales department and walked away, back in 2015 I was looking at the Genesis 5.0 Ultimate, that is what I wanted, and they didn't have one and were unwilling to order or dealer trade for one, kept pushing me into buying a 3.8 Tech that they had on the lot, and it isn't what I wanted.

I walked away, went and bought a Lexus that had all the offerings and choices I wanted.

I came back in 2018 again looking at the 5.0 Ultimate, that is when I discovered the Sport model and while I wasn't really thrilled about the Twin Turbo V6 it had everything else I wanted, including the carbon fiber trim and a black headliner. Only dealer in the area with white/black sport

They had that one marked up $5,000 for "market adjustment" and they would not negotiate, where firm on the price. So I walked, went to another dealer who only had a black/grey sport so they ended up doing a dealer trade with Puente Hills for the exact car I was looking at their, and I got for the terms I wanted at Commerce Hyundai.

Pretty sad if you ask me, they lost a sale on a vehicle they had on the lot to another dealership over their "market adjustment" bull shit.

I think Costco uses nitro air free when buying tires there. Re the Palisade, it's been getting rave reviews, but when a year goes by, expect normal depreciation PLUS any markup. When the Prius '04 model came out, there were dealers around the area asking $3,000 or more with the same "adjustment" crap. I bought one from a dealer who charged MSRP, but gave me what I considered a good deal on my trade-in.

I swear I remember a member or two that flew from NY to the Midwest to buy a 2009 Genesis when it was released because the Genesis cars were adjusted $10K or $15K above sticker. That's a nutty price adjustment for any car, let along a first year Korean luxury sedan.

It is May 8, 2020 and there is $43000 Palisade marked up to $53000 in the showroom. Hope it sits there a while.

Maybe the sales manager is dyslexic and he really meant 35000. Doubt many cars are selling close to sticker today let alone big markup.

I read that the KIA dealers are dubbing the Telluride "Sell Your Ride"... Before the PanDem the average time on lot was 6-7 days...

The top trim of the Telluride (SX-P) is still selling at MSRP or a little above (depending on market).

Bought my used G70 there last week. A new Palasade on the floor $40K with no mark-ups. At least not on the sticker. This is an Asian area and almost all of the customers and sales people were Asian. Much of the business was being done in Chinese.
The sales manager seemed no more sleazy than usual. Could only knock him down $1k off asking price.
