  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Mapnsoft v14 on the Horizon

For the record, not all of us are having those issues. My connected services are working great, i really appreciate the new look, and the updated music interface is a nice little upgrade.

Never really cared about the phone battery indicator, as it wasn't very accurate to begin with. Even so, the previous version was still good, so it's not a big loss to skip this version.
Is there album art for BT streaming?

Yeah, what bugs? The SiriusXM issue could easily be their issue and not Genesis.

The map looks are worth it.

Only thing I have noticed that bugs me is there seem to be be POI that can't be disabled. For example, I now see a stylized Walmart and Best Buy POI that cannot be turned off. Not the end of the world, really.

The issue is clearly Genesis, SiriusXM didn't put out the update. That said, there are other people expressing other issues if you look at the posts in this thread.

I'll be frank, they should have done a better job quality testing so that everyone experienced a bug free upgrade.

In all the cars I've owned that had bluetooth systems, none of them had accurate battery or signal readings. While it's a nice visual to have, in theory, I'd rather nothing at all if it isn't accurate.

The update installed flawlessly and has had no issues after a week.

It's my thread, I've read every single post and haven't seen a single bug. 🤷‍♂️

Is that because the bugs you don't personally experience don't count?

It's helpful to remember that even if you aren't having a particular issue, others might be, and posting about it is the best way to find that out. Someone might come along later this year after finally getting around to performing the update and encounter the same problems. Or if not, then maybe a poster is having unique hardware or update problems, and that's useful too.

Will be more useful if a resolution is found. If not, it is just two people with the same problem.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
No, I'm just stating that SiriusXM, only thing I've seen as a possible bug, could be caused by Sirius.

Only other post I've seen is the phone signal and battery indicators. Not a bug.

What else?

Here is how it looks with Android auto...

And the same album with Bluetooth...

Evidently that is a firm no: no album art via Bluetooth.

I've never seen an Android be able to do album art via BT. Heard tales of iPhone doing it with some heads.... But I think it was through the Spotify app which is using a different API than Bluetooth alone.

It is the head unit itself. It’s running AVRCP 1.4 as far as I know. Looks like the firmware update didn’t update the AVRCP.
v1.6 is needs for Album Art over BT!

Cool. Didn't know that.

Oh boy... so, how do we get firmware for the head unit?

Should have been part of the update. Each update includes a newer version of Android. When we had access to the service menu, you could see the Android OS build date. Looks like they just didn’t touch the BT portion!

More than likely it will require a future update that addresses the issue. And I'm not sure I understand your point... Some people, myself included, like to know what potential risks there are before updating software whether that be something like Windows, Android, Linux, etc. Perhaps updating may not worth it to some people that are interested in keeping the battery charge indicator and a bug-free SiriusXM experience.

It seems like some people here are getting defensive about a map update and trying to silence those that are looking to tell others about their experience. Not a very welcoming vibe.

Is it downloadable yet? I checked a few days ago and I wasn't about to pay an additional $25 for the USB when I just bought a 50K car less than a week ago 👀.

^ A download option will be available on May 15th...tomorrow as of writing this.

Oh...and you do not pay for this. Just add to your cart...pick your best shipping...and on the final page you simply select "Bill to GMA" (Genesis Motor America).

So I did 2-day shipping...and charged $41.52 to GMA.

If you mean me, I'm not defensive. I'm genuinely curious where the idea that it's "buggy" came from. I've read all the posts and haven't seen anyone mention a bug. I still do not believe the Sirius issue is on Genesis.... Sirius never needs help to screw their stuff up.

Moreover, I have experienced some behavior that I don't love but haven't mentioned there on here.

The problem is most of both the good and bad installs don't have all the information. One went well, the other had problem and both are G80. Unless you note the year and model the information is useless. Genesis has used a variety of head units from a variety of manufacturers. Just reading of your good or bad install is of no value unless I know I have the same head unit.
