  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Panoramic Sunroof Malfunction in 2015 Genesis

I also had trouble getting it to close and it was also creaky. I applied PDMS to the edges of the glass and since then it's all been good. No closing issues, no creak.

I'm not sure that I'm following what you're saying. Do you mean you put PDMS just on the glass, not on any part that slides, and the noise went away?

just experienced this with my sunroof as well. Took it to the dealer and it was still under warranty so they lubed up the sunroof tracks. But, now i am gun shy to use it because i don't have a ton of time left on my warranty.
Use it before you lose it . I had to get the sunroof motor replace on mine. It's better to get that done now that you have warranty. The dealership lubed my roof five times before they decided to change the motor.

On the glass at the front, sides and rear edges where it interfaces with the car. There's a technical bulletin from Hyundai about it. It's somewhere here on this site.

That's correct. The noise went away and the sunroof closes without stopping about halfway through.

OK, did you mean this TSB #19-BD-001H-1? I couldn't find it on this site but I did elsewhere.

Exactly. That’s it.
So that's interesting, I hadn't thought to lubricate just the edges where the window makes contact dropping in. So, I'll add that to my routine. And, a paintbrush is a good idea. It doesn't address what I was suggesting about the brackets. Also, interestingly they show pushing the paintbrush through the rubber to lubricate the track. However, they don't directly talk about lubricating that rubber.

My 2015 has these same issues with going slow and making strange noises. Apparently one of my cables snapped so i took it to the dealer and they have had my car 2 weeks now. They are replacing the sunroof. Hopefully it gets done right.
