  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am having a Ravelco anti theft device installed in the Genesis and wanted to know where you guys/gals think is the best place for the round plug. If you don't know what Ravelco is, check out www.neverstolen.com and click the pictures section.

There are only two ways to mount; surface and bracket.

The bracket mount usually goes under the kickboard, but it appears the genesis kickboard goes pretty low so I don't think that is an option. A surface mount means that you drill a hole somewhere in the leather and have the plug look permanent. The only downside to this is if I ever needed to take the panel off I would only have about 1' of slack because you can't take the plug out.

So if I had to do the surface mount, where would you put it? Under the bank of buttons that has the parking sensor and ESC? or under the push button start?

An interesting system, mind to share the costs of this good system?

I think the install and system vary depending on location. Up in the North East it is between $350 and $400. Its the only system out on the market that actually works. Although it doesn't do anything for the "smash and grab" but no alarm does anything for that.

I've been getting a lot of looks at my Genesis and I want to make sure when I wake up in the morning its still where I parked it the night before.

Finding a location for the plug looks to be a little tough though. I don't really want to reach down to low to put the plug in.
