  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The trim on my driver's power seat that holds the seat controls has proken about 4 times and has been replaced under warranty each time. Anyone else have this issue? I have the ultimate trim, but I am not sure if that matters.

I haven’t had that issue with my 2015 Genesis 5.0, but I can tell you that the drivers seat back paneling completely came off and it’ll cost around $400 just for that simple hard plastic piece.

Does your seat base padding cover the top with a few inches to spare or is the padding compressed down close to the top of the panel? Sometimes customers tend to sit down on the edge of the seat then slide/rotate in the rest of the way, which frequently shatters the panel mounts.

It is not compressed. The car only has 35,000 miles on it. The last one lasted 6 months/3,000 miles.

Are you an edge-sitter or an all-in sitter? I tend to recommend people grab the roof rail and sit all the way into the car before putting any weight down. It works better than using the interior grab handle because that's pretty awkwardly placed in relation to the B-pillar.

This is a very common issue on older BMWs that have the seat control panel projected towards the door- those get sat on and broken a LOT.

Guarantee here in Phx. Inna the summer you don’t wanna grab the roof rail in the summer lol
