  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have read posts about the trim piece for the third stop light on my 2015 Genesis 3.8, but I just noticed yesterday that the gasket or rubber seal around the cover has dried out and literally crumbling when I touch it. Any ideas on how to replace or repair the gasket?

Mine was a clean split, so I covered it with black electrical tape. It has held up for over a year like that, even with the heat and humidity in the southern US.

I used black weatherstripping. No point in going to the hassle of dropping your car off at the dealer for several hours minimum, and for what's probably a $600 part. Hopefully Hyundai fixed these errors in the latest iterations of the Genesis.

I have a '15, about 10 months ago mine fell off the back glass completely. Dealer replaced it at their cost. I don't recall if it was an extended warranty fix or just something that was under factory warranty. I would check with the dealer before you try and repair, can't hurt to ask.
