  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2015 Hyundai Genesis 5.0 with a warranty that is also recognized by Hyundai (first current model car). I am trying to do some small upgrades that do not void my warranty and am wondering if anyone has had issues with a muffler delete / aftermarket exhaust install causing issues with their warranty.

Exhaust mods only bar you from fixing the exhaust under warranty in the event of failure or malfunction. If your transmission launches clutch packs through the center console you're still covered, unless your exhaust was somehow deemed the root cause...

In other words don't worry too much about it.

If you're looking to start off easy I'd go for a resonator delete. The difference in volume isn't tremendous but you'll definitely notice the more aggressive exhaust note/tone. If you can get away with it you can also "cat-strate" your vehicle, as the final pair only exist for CARB compliance. They're located very close to the resonator and chopping them off will net you noticeably more noise under load.

If you just want to do an axle back, the inlet to the mufflers is 2 inches. Borla Pro XS's are probably the sensible choice, but look for some Stainless Works cans if you want to turn heads.

Whatever you do, don't be like those buffoons on YouTube that simply cut the mufflers off before the inlet and run them as is

edit: spelling

uploaded a video with my modified exhaust. hope it makes you go for it!
