  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I came across this replacement front grille on Ebay, the cost is far lower than what Genesis quoted me a year ago or so, which was in the neighborhood of $900. There is an unsightly piece on the bottom half which I really don't care for, it looks like it should be removable to me but the seller says it's fixed to the grille. My factory grille has several rock chips in it already and I'm looking to replace it, does anybody else here think the lower protruding plate mount looks to be removable?

Note: upon further searching I found a similar photo from another listing that clearly shows 3 mounting screws in the rectangular piece, and noticed you can partially see one of these screws in the listing I posted here as well.

If it's the same as the factory grille, it'll be removable. The mounting plate is just held on by 2-3 screws. You can remove those, take off the plate, and reinsert the screws just to protect from anything entering the holes.

Hey, did you ever end up doing this grille replacement? I agree with you on the plate on the bottom — were you able to remove it?
