  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey team.

I recently got bored and painted my engine bay cover.

The silver was a little beat up, I think the previous owner may have used some harsh chemicals on it or something that kind of discolored it.

It wasn't terrible, and I was mainly bored, but I pulled the cover, cleaned it, masked it, and half assedly painted it.

Not sure if the paint was old, if it was because I used high temp caliper paint on plastic, or if I just suck at painting, but the end result was that the new black paint came out kind of powdery and even looks like felt.

Honestly I like the way it looks and it took me maybe an hour.

Pics below, feel free to roast me.

Stay safe and healthy out there folks!

Haha thanks Jkon.

I'll pat myself on the back for the masking job but the paint is definitely no masterpiece haha, looks and feels like the felt on a pool table, but hey, ill take it!

As long as even all around you just tell people it is exactly what you wanted. Looks nice though.

Those letters pop - are they chromed?

I like the way it looks like 4 intake runner tubes on each side with the contrasting tones. Nice!
