Depends on your car. First owner get them free for 3 years. $25 for most others.

I went to the website to order my $25 map update. The earliest model year was 2017. I suppose my Genesis is actually a 2015 Hyundai Genesis. Is there a way to get the $25 map update for a 2015 Hyundai Genesis?

Am I missing something here??? Pulled the card from the slot to install the new one, looked at the number and it is exactly the same as the one I installed back in early May! It all started when I got an email from Genesis to do a survey on the new update so I thought the one for July came out and I ordered one. Well I thought this was vin related and it would have stopped me from ordering the same one!

As has been noted in several of the Map V14 threads... we all thought the same thing about the VIN. In fact I have personally confirmed with MapNSoft, the VIN number is not used in any way to reference your vehicle. It is only used as a tracking number on the map update requests.

I'm guessing it is needed for the model to ensure the proper nav unit is matched. The VIN will ensure the the Model is matched.

As I tried to explain... this is NOT true. I thought the same until I received the wrong software from MapNSoft. I gave them my VIN, but picked the wrong screen size. They explained to me exactly what I said in the previous post.. they do NOT use the VIN for a match of any kind.. it is simple there to "number" your request.

Hi guys,
just trying to get clarification on the map update. just went to the mapnsoft website and created a account. Put in my vin # and it shows the map update 141SPR- was done on April 27, 2020. So I should be up to date right?

If I'm understanding you.....then that is something like 3 years old. We are up to v14 and that would be V11-ish.

I believe you are correct, when I put my info in the site, it said the v14 was sent out in 4/20 (I guess to the dealer). When you asked me to check to version, that when I saw the numbers and figured hat it hasn't been updated. So I have it coming now, is there anything else that I need to make sure it's running the latest version. Thanks for the help!!
