  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What did you pay for your Genesis G80?

Hope your get the color you want, that way you can put the procurement process behind you, and enjoy the car! It's one of the fun things in life we get to enjoy.

Update:. 2 hours before delivery on 4/25 I get a call from Carvana the rear driver side window had a crack. The window would not be there to Friday. Just before that got a call saying I'm Covid 19 positive and I have to spend another week in quarantine! I wasn't having a great day. So, I told them to keep the car till the window was fixed, plus I would be done with quarantine at home.

Anyway got the car on the 3rd and I really like it. I washed and waxed it now I looks amazing. When I washed it I found the wheels were peeling. I contacted Carvana and they going to fix them. I called the local Hyundai dealership to check for any recalls and about warranty. They said I have 35 months left on my warranty and an ECU update.

So, far I feel I made a good choice. With only street driving I'm getting about 18mpg with the 5.0 V8. Not as good as my Volt that it replaced but, good enough.
Thanks for the input.

Sorry to hear about the CV. Hope you're doing better.

So, was it the brown color?

Hello everyone.
I've had my eye on the G80 for quite a while and decided to finally pull the trigger. I've been very interested in the 2021, but the newly revealed pricing has made me rethink a bit. So I'm in the process of finalizing negotiations for a leftover, new 2019 3.8 AWD w/ the ultimate package. $55,785 MSRP and we agreed on $11k off, so a price of $44,785. I'll still have a few months to run on my current BMW 330 lease, but couldn't pass on the price and 0% financing.

Does that discount seem reasonable or is anyone seeing better prices?

Thanks.

What state are you in. In Fresno the had 3 '19 Ultimate 3.8 for $40k. But, your price is not bad.

$40k would be a great deal. Only $2.5k more than I paid for a base '19 G80 in December. I should have waited!

Is there any best website to search for new cars or are they all pretty much the same? Looking for a G80 Sport and it seems there are some good deals out there. Thx.

Looks like 0% interest can be had for remaining 2019's.

Hi Everyone,

Been looking at buying a mid-sized luxury sedan for about month now. First time car buyer. Feel like it's a great time to buy with everything going on. I narrowed my search down to 2016+ Lexus GS 350 and Genesis G80 3.3T. After test driving both, I loved the Genesis' ride, power delivery and tech. The Genesis blew me away and I've been hunting for a good deal ever since. Was pretty set on buying used but after seeing some special offers at dealerships nationwide I'm considering buying new. I'm seeing used 2018 for $34k OTD. I'm also seeing some 2019s on dealerships websites with list prices of $45k-$48k which is ~$10k off MSRP. I like the peace of mind that the full warranty provides with buying new but not sure I can stomach paying an additional $10k+ for that peace of mind. I've seen on this thread that there are Circle A prices - can anyone provide what that would be for a new 2019 G80 3.3T? Also would love to hear everyone's thoughts on if they think there's additional wiggle room in the already-discounted list prices. Thanks all!

Circle A plans bring the prices down to some 5% (or thereabouts) below dealer invoice - normally a good deal, reducing a $57k price to around $52k, less other incentives. But with some desperate dealers awash with '19s and '20s, those prices you see are even lower, so you won't need the Circle A plan. Further wiggle room? Only an attempt will answer that, depending on the individual dealer's position. Perhaps you can play one dealer against another; it's a buyer's market right now.

Lexus GS 350 vs G80? I think a search here on that topic will indicate you've made the right choice.

That would be a good poll. No idea.. but I hear from others it's available. But good point - has anyone in here bought a Genesis as a CPO?
I just bought a '17 G80 Premium Pkg CPO about a month ago. Original (used) sticker price of about 31k I think, got it down to 23k OTD with a 3k trade in. Car has just over 35k miles on it and honestly I think I got a really good deal. Quite a big upgrade from my 07' Honda Accord lol

2019 G80 3.3T Sport (new … not demo)
MSRP $58,940
Price $45.5
OTD:$48.7

Thanks for all the useful input.
What accounts for the $3k difference between the price and OTD - tax, tags, delivery? Just seems like a lot, but I may be completely off. Thx.

Sales tax alone (in Texas anyway) is 6.25%, or $2,844 on $45,500.

Texas general sales tax is 8.25% in the Dallas area, but I believe they only charge the state tax when buying a car, not the 2% add-on city taxes.

So.. live in a state with no income tax when earning a living - but retire in a state that does have an income tax, but lower sales tax. Work it both ways!
