  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

HELP NEEDED!

I did like the gray interior...it looked amazing, but I don't mind the black with the red/gray stitching
So I went and looked at the Siberian ice and Black Forest yesterday...I love the Siberian but i realized that it shows swirls very easily because of no metallic finish.

The BFG is a really nice color in person so that jumped to the top...although I did see the Savile silver on the lot too and that was a nice color too so I’m torn again lol

Im leaning towards the green, but I really like the silver too 🤦🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️

Both fantastic colors. My vote is for BFG - it's just so dang unique; but, in a classy way.

Frankie, how many miles are on your car?

Just wondering how they'll handle the depreciation.

I bought mine one year ago today and I think you joined nearly the same time. I am interested to know the insurance opinion of depreciation.

I hate to admit this, but that's even more reason not to go with the Siberian Ice (even though I did that exact same thing). Siberian Ice can look white in some types of light (other times it can look gray, other times really light blue, like glacier ice).
Yeah i was thinking about that too. It's an opportunity to get something different and so it's going to be BFG.

Well looks like my lawyer and Genesis corporate has to get involved now!! I was trying to be nice about it and giving the dealership a chance to do right, but can’t anymore...Insurance totaled the car and i went in today to see what they were going to do for me...after tax, tag and title...a whopping $2000 off MSRP, and they thought that would be a fair deal

So I am still waiting on the insurance company to do whatever it is they do...

I've been thinking about it and I think that I will be getting another G70 - 2020; probably the Sport trim now (or should I stay with the Prestige?). I'm thinking that I'm going to go with a different color this time...stuck between the Siberian Ice and the Black Forest Green...any ideas?
Black Forest Green.

Please reveal the dealership when this is resolved.

I have found Genesis dealers to be very creepy while trying to buy.

Forcing you to lawyer up is over the top sleazy, and stupid.

FWIW, a month ago I got almost 3x the discount offered on a 2020 G70.

Who controls ownership of the damaged car in this scenario? Or any scenario? Usually once an insurance claim is submitted by an insured individual the insurance company controls the item at loss. The insured surrenders control of the disposal of the damaged item in case of total loss.

Dealerships insurance should be covering this not yours and they should replace the car with one of equal spec and mileage if possible with no out of pocket from you. You can’t expect new zero mileage car without some out of pocket, but you should at minimum expect an exact replacement equal to yours. Remember yours is a used vehicle with 10k on it, so an equal replacement is one of the same.

back in 2007-2008 a guy on the Chrysler 300 forums had a dealer tech total his car while “test” driving it after a front alignment. the tech ran a red light and t-boned another car. The car was a 2005 Chrysler 300c SRT. Which was limited production for 2005. It had 26,000 miles on it. Dealer couldn’t find a 2005 so they replaced it with a 2006 with 18,000 miles no a dime out of pocket for the forum member.

I will point out that the forum member did get the local news consumer protection reporter involved and a story was run about it which seems to expedite the replacement.
