  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey Folks - This is getting worse now as days progress. I have a thread before on what was done on the car.

To summarize the dealership replaced Front tyres / Balanced the wheels / replaced the rotors under warranty - and the vibrations are still present.. Genesis said they would need to send an engineer out to see the car. This was in march before the pandemic. Now they are just saying their field engineers are not on the road and not saying when the car would be fixed.

The dealership is trying things but their hands are tied until they can prove what the problem is.. The car was in the shop back in march for a week.

Should I take the legal route ??Appreciate any thoughts and feedback.

Th Vibrations crawl up with speed - The steering and also the car vibrates -- over 55mph all the way.. It is the most noticeable at 70mph especially with a hand on the steering wheel with some weight to it..

Did they replace the wheels(rims) with the tires? Possibly a bad bearing? I would also consider that it could be vibration from the rear appearing as through the front and would replace all the same things at the back end.

If it occurs when NOT braking then it is nothing related to the brakes. If you hadn't had any service done I'd start with balance tires, alignment, replace tires, check rims/replace rims, etc.

My 2 cents. Sorry to hear about your troubles.

Sorry forgot to mention - They swapped out the wheels with a loaner 3.3T with 1600 miles on it :/

That car also had vibrations and the swap didn't change things much.

I had a vibration at highway speeds with my G70 that I noticed a few months after I bought it. I took it to a really good local tire place, where they checked the balance of all four wheels. Besides being not that well balanced from the factory, they found that one of the front tires had a "high" spot. It's hard to explain, but somehow by taking the tire off the rim and rotating it (I don't remember how many degrees) and then re-balancing, they were somehow able to greatly improve it. I wouldn't have believed it if I wasn't standing there watching them do it, through the whole procedure. This eliminated my highway vibration. I don't trust that the dealer would have ever figured this one out.
You might try taking it to some experts. I didn't bother trying to get reimbursed for the cost, but you could try. Good luck!

I meant to say that the front passenger seat backrest would vibrate if nobody was in it on the highway, it doesn't anymore.

Thats a great idea - we tried the wheels of another G70 in the shop - so not sure what is causing this. I might just take it to a really nice tyre shop and let them diagnose.

Hmm. The other day, I felt what I'll call a shimmy. It's happened a few times but does seem to go away fairly quick. The problem with these things is it could be something ranging from very minor to something falling off, like your wheel... likely a minor annoyance but if it was happening to me the way you have it I would be obsessed with solving it.

Stinger forum has a few hits... could be a separated belt in one of the tires...

1. Balance your wheels with a road force balance. They will do what Husky was explaining above.

2. Are the wheels OEM? If not, make sure they have a 'hub centric ring.' If the bore and hub aren't matched it can / may cause vibrations.

3. Could be the tires too. Drive on a different set of tires to see how it feels. Example, my Michelins feel different than my Continentals.

4. Check out the undercarriage, struts, axles, bearings, etc. Make sure it all looks right.

5. Drive another identical vehicle with identical tires under similar conditions. If you're experiencing the same thing, then it's just the car being that way (most likely)

Hope it works out!

Yep - tires out of round - I had that many years ago on a brand new car. Not until it was time to change the tires did I realize what was wrong:(

I concur! I just serviced a 2018 Suburban with new tires on it (5000)miles on them and one of those tires were not true. Causing grief around 80mph. When I purchased my 15 5.0 I had same problem , finally after 2 shops balanced tires. I removed tires and did a balance on a friends balance machine and found 2 bent wheels same side of vehicle.

Any updates im having the same problems
