  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I made a thread about me thinking of pulling the trigger on a 3.8 V6 Genesis Track Edition. I was wondering though, before I pull the trigger, which of the engine options do you think will be most viable for racing on the track?

I plan on taking the Genesis to the Drag Strip in Holt, FL and I know that some of the boosted 4 cylinders can really make a lot of power. I'm wondering if the 4 cyl turbo may actually one day have more potential than the 3.8 V6 due to possibly having more aftermarket options.

Any opinions on this? Which engine options would you think would be the best for racing on the strip? Thanks!

Jason

I appreciate your reply, but I guess I was referring to between the two track models. I was just wondering if there was any possibility of the 2.0t making more power than the V6 if both were modded to their full extent. I know the V6 initially makes more power, but I imagine there will be more mods for the 2.0t since that engine will probably be most popular with tuners.

I think we're on the same page. I think the 2.0T will have more available tuning and development work versus the 3.8. And if you're racing, you might consider the R-Spec, which is a cheaper, stripped version of the Track model. Or am I missing your question?

With the 3.8 Track your way ahead...a lot of R&D going on for the 3.8.

I think we are mostly on the same page. I was just curious as to which you would be able to get the fastest quarter mile time with. I think I will go with the track version though, if I want all of those features going with the r spec would be kind of pointless anyways. Thanks for your input.

Yup, I have decided on the 3.8 track. :D
