  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am new to Hyundia and to this Forum. I just bought a 2014 Hyundia Equus Signature (as is), two weeks ago. However, today the MENU and Right Soft Key Buttons on the Front Central Controller do not work. I had no problem with them until today. When I press them they stick or are very hard to press down, or move down very slowly. I did not spill anything no did I use any cleaning agents etc. here, so I am at a loss as to why they would suddenly stick. Has any one else experienced similar or any ideas how to fix?

I got a 2014 Signature about two months ago. Mine are good. Sounds like a prior spill. I think that entire front central controller can be removed, but I don't know how to do it. Maybe it can then be looked over and cleaned, or replaced. Frustrating....

I have a 14 Ultimate with the same issue.

Mine acts up in severe temperature changes and happens more frequently in cold Indy winters..... But it also has happened just a couple of days ago in 90+ temps with high humidity.....

Traveling down to our Florida home end of week and I will detail car then... Will see if stuck or hard to press buttons work more freely after a good cleansing...

Thanks for your comments salcirabisi and change741. I got them working, I sprayed WD40 carefully down the edges and simultaneously keep pressing the buttons, i did this over the course of two days and they freed up. Howsever, after 3 more days, they started to stick again, i then used Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol (70%) and with the aid of a eye dropper i carefully would drop i to 2 drops around the edge and press it. I did this over two days and the buttons have worked fine for over 10 days. Be careful with the IRA as it will take the white lettering off the buttons. The temps here in VA are now 93+F and no sticking. I did buy a WeatherTech SunShade which has been a fantastic aid in keeping internal temps down in the car. I think some one spilled drinks or chocolate over the switch's because i did find crusting on the edge of one switch which took time to scrap off. I was told not to use electronic cleaner as this can corrode the switches. I have fixed little things myself, i also discovered why water was in the tail light, it runs down the channel from the rear wind shield onto the tail light joint.
