  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've been searching for fender vents and/or hood vents for my Genesis 3.8 Sedan.

I've found many of them on E-bay, and the price is right ($10 to $20 for a nice set, with many choices).

BUT... I've never seen them on a luxury car (Gensis, Lexus, etc.).

What's your opinion? Are they attractive (non-functional) decoration, or just tacky?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.:)

Are you a drug dealer? From Mexico? I don't think it looks nice. Ferrari, functional, yes... Genesis no. My opinion--

Tacky. I see them stuck on everything large and small. Buick had some history with fender vents, but the present craze simply makes even the Buick vents look tacky.

Half of the ones I see aren't even applied straight.

LOL Have to agree.

Much like spinners -- the fender vent craze is over... or should be.

Now, if we could just get rid of black wheels on non-black cars and satin black "paint" jobs... I'd be happy.

Horrible, cheap, tacky and not in keeping w/ the look/feel of the Genesis.

Tacky.

Tacky!! I actually only see these fake vents (right there says enough) on 300C's and usually it's in a very low income area. Basically, the person who has a crappy apartment, but spends almost as much on there car payment. Priorities!!!!!!!!

I love them. I already spent all my money on a fire breathing bird decal and a simulated hood scoop though. I want my Genesis old school.

OK, I guess "tacky" it is!

Based on your nearly unanimous comments, I think I'll pass on the fender vents, but they did look sooooo good on my grandfather's Buick.;)

Now what about fuzzy dice? (Just kidding, really!):)

Not sure about fuzzy dice...but Landau tops look AWESOME. Especially on cars that were never designed for them. :-)

I have that whing on my Genesis sans the black primer paint. NOT.
Though I did like the double window wing (picnic bench and table) on the
1987 Merkur XR4Ti- I miss that funky road machine!

Oh- side vents...only nice ones are on the Vette and CTS.
