  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The manual G70 is no more. Officially confirmed by Genesis

yep, no surprise that they won't spend money developing a 6MT for the 2.5T. they had a suitable rear-drive 6MT to start with from the old Gen coupe which they could modify to suit the G70. but my guess is that they'd need to build a new unit to handle the 2.5T torque while offering the 10 year warranty.

given the low take rate, and that they already created a splash with the G70 launch, they've served their purpose and the manual can now disappear with few people noticing. every car mag will mention it when reviewing the '22 refresh, just as they did for the 3-series, but since so few people actually bought one why should Genesis care?

it is a shame for people like me who actually put their money where their 'save the manual' mouths are. the 2.5T/RWD/LSD/6MT Sport combo would have been a great package. it would have added that little bit missing from the current 6MT trim. i've long said that the 6MT trim deserved at least ~300hp and a bit more in torque from the factory to exploit the chassis virtues, while maintaining the lighter 4-cyl/RWD layout for the sharper handling we already enjoy compared to 3.3T/AWD. nothing a JB4 can't fix for now, but having the power without needing mods is a better starting point.

This led me to look at inventory at my two dealers in town and I notice that the overall inventory for G70, 2020 and 2021 is markedly less than 3-4 months ago. Much less than six months ago. Not by transmission choice but all g70 options. Curious, I guess. I looked no further than those two. Model change? Covid? It was not this way a year ago when I bought. There was far more inventory at these two at that time which was mid year also. Any new buyers notice anything?

The purchase incentives, $5000 in June, are basically gone now as well.
