Slow fuel fill/ Pump issues solved

I have been having issues with very slow fill at the pump, lots of kick off, etc. It would take me 10 minutes or more to get gas! I did some research and a few of my mechanic sources all said change the Canister Close Valve (CCV) part #31430 3M000. Ordered one from Amazon $75.00 and installed it today. Headed to the pump and a smooth 18 gallons flowed into my tank!
It is a bit of a pain cuz I had to work in the trunk, the part is right next to the Fuel tank air filter. I did not change the FTAF as my guys tell me not to worry unless it codes.
job isull the trunk rug and the Styrofoam cover, expose and remove the metal cover (10x10mm bolts) make sure you have a 1/4" ratchet and both short and long sockets as its a tight fit to get the 2 bolts holding the CCV to the Fuel tank air filter. Simple but PITA to get to the bolts. I stacked the tire area with moving pads to make it a bit more comfortable. If you have a light that can attach and project from overhead that would help. About an hour job. Dealer wanted $300 plus parts.

I was having the same issue with slow fills and the gas nozzle constantly clicking off. I talked to the parts manager at a Hyundai dealership and he confirmed that they had replaced a few of the Canister Close Valves to address this issue. I bought one from him and also grabbed the fuel tank air filter at the same time (since I was going to be in that area of the car working anyway). I changed out both and VOILA! no more slow fill, gas nozzle clicking off issues!

I can also report that the fuel tank air filter I removed was quite dirty (gray in colour versus the new one being bright white), so I would suggest replacing this filter as per the recommended service schedule even though most dealers seem to try and avoid doing it!

Had the same problem on my Gen1. Dealer replaced the CCV under warranty and solved the problem. But the best advice was to never try to top the tank. Any excess fuel will go into the CCV system and damage the valve...rendering it useless. Immediately changed my fill-up routine to removing gas hose when it clicks off. No further problems on Gen1 and my Gen2 is always good to go!

Recently purchased a 2012 3.8 that has the same problem. I was excited to see there was some success just changing the ccv out. I crawled in the trunk and installed a new Hyundai ccv. Unfortunately, it didn't fix the issue. I can't leave the nozzle in the filler unattended. Never even gets a gallon before clicking off. Any other suggestions?

Are you still having the same issue? There is also a carbon canister that's associated with the fuel tank air filter which can get clogged up. Unfortunately it's not a cheap part, well over $100 on PartsGeek.

I found that replacing just the CCV didn’t fix mine either. I ordered the complete evap canister off eBay for $100 and a new air filter for $23 hyundaioempartsdirect.com and reusing the ccv I purchased. I’m hoping this does the trick. It looked like it did for this guy:

Looks like I didn’t need the canister from eBay, I checked the hose that was supposed to be connected to the fuel air filter and it was not connected! Gas started filling up normally after reconnecting that hose. What an easy fix!

I'm wondering if this is also my issue. Already had dealer service last month and the replaced the evap canister and filter supposedly but I'm getting crap gas mileage now as well as issue filling returned. It shut off after 6 gallons yesterday

I always thought the culprit was the charcoal cannister. I have to replace mine. I will try the close valve first, I guess. Thanks for the heads-up.

I just had warranty service on mine, for the second time, for fueling issues as well. Reading up here, noticed they never checked close valve or lines, just replaced canister and filter. I had the same issue within a week. It was bad close valve for mine but also the fuel mileage went to crap, about 12 mpg. I'll finally see if they got it done this time on Monday. I've owned this car since the end of January and this will make about a month and a half in the shop. Love the car but may have lemon law them if it's not correct this time. Dealers kissing my butt, offering to repaint the hood and front for paint chips or I'd have gotten it back Wednesday.

Can you reference the video (what time in the video that shows it) and tell me about this not-connected host? I need to fix my issue. I'm not so mechanically inclined
