1G Genesis Sedan (2009-2014)
My Genesis oil spec is 5W-30 but I have a synthetic 5W-20 oil for my former Sonata. I am wondering if I can use this for my Genesis.

Use what oil weight the owners manual state to use. If only says 5w-30 then do not use 5w-20. Modern engines are designed to use certain oil weights as recommended by the manufacturer. Using an oil that is too thin could cause some serious engine issues.
