  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and I'm not sure if this post is accepted here, but let me try.

My BMW x5 lease is ending and I'm thinking about purchasing GV80 when it comes out this fall or at the end of the year.

I compared GV80 vs BMW X5 and came up with the following numbers.

GV80
2.5T i4 AWD + Prestige Package = $64,825

BMW X5
XDrive + MSports + Executive package + Driving assistance package = $71,450

However...knowing BMW...I'm pretty sure I can get about 10~12% off and there are always rebates and incentives.

$71,450 - 10% - $2,000 (BMWFS rebate) = $61,405

For those who owned other Genesis cars, how much discount did you get when you purchased?

Remember this is a brand new model In short supply And it will go for a premium price for a while. Not really comparable to you X5 that has been out for a while. The real question is how long can you wait until the supply catches up the the demand.

Thank you Mcc. Yeah, that's what I expected. When the premium goes away, how much do people get usually? Is it around 10% like other premium brands? I heard that lease price isn't good as BMW last time I heard. Not sure about purchase pricing.

It was easy getting 10% but with the GV80 I think it may be quite a while before you see it. Seems to be a good demand when it first hits.

Hopefully things settle down by next August.

11% off with Circle A. 2020 G80 Sport in March

I think he’s looking for a GV80, not a G80. In any case it’s a lot harder to get circle pricing so I’m not sure it’s much of a comparison to anything you wrote

For those who owned other Genesis cars, how much discount did you get when you purchased. Sounds in general.

Likely wwill start with some discount/incentive, but won't be anywhere near the amount available for the X5 (which is aging).

Whether it increases over time will depend on the demand/supply.

When Kia launched the Telluride, it started with $1k in incentives, but it's been over a year now and due to demand/supply Kia has cut the incentive down to $500, and the majority of dealerships are still up charging (at least for the higher trim levels).

Also, wouldn't necessarily go by the amount of discounts that were offered in the past as the GV80 and new G80 are on a different level (plus, the GV80 is a CUV and not a sedan).

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
From what can recall, people have been able to get over 10% off list, esp. at times when dealerships want to get rid of the old MY.

But like had stated, will depend on supply/demand and think that while Genesis will want to make sure that the cost of purchase is competitive, don't want to get into the heavily discounted game like they have done in the past.

Bigger issue for them is lease rates; really difficult to compete against BMW and Mercedes on that front (Audi and Lexus struggle when it comes to that).

Thank you, everyone. Yeah, I was looking for discounts % in general.

It sounds like I will have to wait if I want to buy GV80.
I got 5% on an ordered G70 over a year ago.
