  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have only 133K kilometers on my vehicle, but because it is not recommended it be used for towing a trailer I decided to try and sell or trade her in. What a problem! It is not a well known car on Vancouver Island and I haven't even had a phone call when I offered her up for $10400 Cdn. As a trade in I was offered $8K against a Sante Fe, but the difference was ludicrous. My other problem is that she runs like a Rolls Royce, and after sleeping on it, I will keep her and maybe buy a well used truck to haul the proposed holiday trailer. Black Book in Canada for a similar Genesis is $5k Cdn. Anyone else running into similar problems selling these beautiful vehicles?

I came to the KDM side from the SAAB world, so yes, I feel your pain. I just don't look at buying a car expecting to get decent returns if I sell it. I drive 'em till they don't drive no more lol.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
As you say, they are not well known.
When I was looking for a new-to-me vehicle I wanted a luxury/performance vehicle. Looked for months at everything from MB to Acura and in between. Initially wanted a small SUV.
Saw an ad for a 2013 R-spec and kept going back to it. After a month I pulled the trigger and have had zero regrets so far (looking for wood to knock). Couldn't see anything else that compared in the price range or even above.
So I ended up buying a car that I'd never heard of before. Only reason I managed to get it was because sales dried up as covid hit, so was still there when I was ready. Already had 2 people tell me it is their dream car and a few ask what it is. Seems like they were never really given a big advertising push but if someone does their research you may get calls. As you have figured, why sell it?
Why would a Santa Fe be better at towing? Smaller motor with less power? I've always wondered about that.

Never really had a satisfactory answer as to why the Genisis is not suitable for towing even a tent trailer and wait for a full answer. Meanwhile will enjoy the feeling of opulence as I drive my Genesis in regal style!
