  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

In my past three cars, I purchased "Trunk Organizers". The one in my Marauder was great. The one in my MKZ was only slightly better than nothing. (I.E., Worthless). Presently in my Genesis, I've been using two AWOL bags to carry the "stuff" I need/want to carry.

While looking at the brochure for the Ford Fusion, I saw that one of the "Ford Custom Accessories" was an "Interior Soft Cargo Organizer (Large Size)". Even though the MKZ and the Fusion are the same car except for trim, the photo of the Soft Cargo Organizer looked like it was a lot better than that POS I had in the MKZ, so I ordered it, plus I ordered the "Interior Soft Cargo Cooler Bag".

Arrived today, and am very happy with it. I set it up, and it fits perfectly in the trunk, both in the front end of the trunk, and/or deep in the end of the trunk. Will probably keep it deep in the end of the trunk. Have not transferred my "stuff" to it yet, but will do so either tomorrow or thursday. Comes with built in straps, to keep it from moving around, but because it is "soft" and sitting on the rubber trunk mat of the Genesis trunk, it probably will not slide around. Tomorrow or thursday, I'll see if I can figure out how to use the built in straps to lash them somewhere in the trunk, perhaps to the two Genesis metal rings on each side in the trunk. Because I take so many trips between Florida and New York and New Mexico, I will put the Soft Cooler Bag to good use also.

Because I get along good with my local Ford Parts (and Service) Department, I did not haggle on the price. (I.E., I paid full price.)

Large Cargo Organizer AE5Z-78115A00-A Price $92.00
Cooler Bag ...............AE5Z-19H484-A Price $28.75

The Small Organizer I did not buy is AE5Z-78115A009-B Price $82.14

Probably could have gotten them for less, but what the heck, they take care of my Continental, so I want them to stay in business. :rolleyes:

CtrcBob,

Thanks for sharing. I have the exact problem on hand and this cargo organization and cooler combination is perfect.

Do you mind share the dimension of the cargo organization with us?

Thanks

can you post pics CTR?

Being a computer dummy, I can't post pix, however if you stop off at your local Ford Dealer, and pickup or look at a brochur of the Ford Fusion, there is a picture on the inside of the last page.

I will take measurements tomorrow and post at that time.

Changed my mind. Went out and measured.

Organizor
L = 39 inch, W = 12 inch, H = 12 inch (four compartments in organizor)

Cooler Bag
L = 15 inch, W = 12 inch, H = 12 inch

Is this it---->

Geez, you guys are good. Thats it. Note that the Ice Chest fits perfect in the right most compartment. When I travel, I will keep the Ice Chest in the car, but for now, I have it stowed exactly as in the photos.

Re-measured and the width is 14 inches, not 12.

Tried it in two places in the trunk. In the location shown in the above photos, the hooks on the end corners hook up with the hooks in the Genesis, where the bottom of the Genesis net would hook up.

In the location more forward, (behind the seat backs, where you have to lean into the trunk), the hooks on the end corners hooks up with the metal "D" Rings in the side of the trunk.

I have so much "Stuff" in the orginizer that it is heavy enough that it will not slide around, even if I don't use the hooks.

Lastly, there are handles on each end for easy movement.

Now my trunk looks clean.
