  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I purchased my used 2015 Genesis 4 months ago and my windshield cleaning motor does not seem to work. Is this a common issue? what are the fixes?

You mean the wiper motor? Does not work at all? You have various settings but in the lowest position it should be the fastest speed. In the other post I explained the "auto" setting but low and high should work constantly. If not, you have a problem.

I was talking about the windshiled wiper fluid to wash the windshield. The wipers move but no water is coming out. I was wondering if that is common with these vehicles. I have no leaks and the tank is full of windshield washing fluid.

I did asked another question on a separate post about the AUTO setting on the windshield wiper. They only work when a substantial amount of water is on the windshield and when it sweeps it takes a while before the 2nd sweep happends. When using the AUTO the setting is on high. I was expecting the wiper to move more frequent. Not sure if that is also normal on the 2015 Genesis.

I think it is fairly common on every vehicle since about 1960. Pumps often go bad from freezing or running dry. I've really not looked at mine so no idea how easy it is to get to.

Have a friend turn it on when you have your head in the engine bay and listen for the pump. An old Buick of mine had a tube come loose. The pump worked fine, but was just throwing windshield wiping fluid on the ground.

Run some cables from the battery (or a 12v source) and touch it to the motor's terminals. If it sprays, then there's a short between the power source and the motor. Also check the fuse before you invest in a new pump. LIke EdP said - they usually don't go "Tango Uniform" unless they freeze or cavitate.
