  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does any one have a issues with the front rotors warp? Our cars has 25,000 miles the front rotors have warped twice can't be turn any more. We changed the pads before the second warp. the pads look great. its been 6000 miles. Not sure what to do now. Any advise?

Don’t ever turn the rotors. Replace. They’re too cheap to be worth $30 turning.

It's possible your mechanic didn't torque to specifications and if the lug nuts aren't torqued evenly (or over-torqued) then it can warp a rotor.

Also, if your caliper is sticking, then it will warp your rotor. You can use an infrared thermometer and drive for about 10 minutes trying to brake as LITTLE as possible, and then check both front rotors. If one is particularly hot in comparison to the other, then you have a sticky caliper.

If you drive on a flat road and the car consistently drifts in one direction when you take your hands off the wheel, that also points to a sticking caliper.

Hope that helps...

Agreed. Tried it once with mine and it was a mistake. My Indie shop did pads & rotors for ~ $350.
