Looking for a GOOD shop in or near Atlanta

I have chased a misfire until I'm blue in the face. Plugs, coils, walnut blast, I'm done. I sort of suspect cats or maybe injectors/injector wiring but it's beyond my ability to figure out.

However, all of the shops I call, more or less "have to see if their computer has a genesis in it" etc. I would like to find a shop that specializes in these, but not having much luck. There is a performance shop in Acworth (ATL Powerhouse Performance) but they won't return my call.

You can buy a OBD2 scanner, It is very cheap. Use android phone, you can read fault code.

Search this post. you will find my reply. If your car is a GDI engine, just go to a shop near your house or company and then have a piston pressure test.

If your car is a MPI engine, Check Camshaft position sensor.

I would try calling an import specialist shop that work on Asian makes like Lexus, Toyota,Honda,etc. Those shops usually have the proper tools for Asian model electronic modules.

Performance shops are not really going to deal with your average repair work most of the time, so I would not use them as a repair shop.

Had similar issue and ended up replacing all the injectors. Now runs perfect like new. To prevent that in future, install oil catch can on outlet of pvc. The GDI engines are known to have caked on oil on valves and injectors.

Thanks. It's a 2013 v6, yes GDI. I took it to a shop who felt like it was an electrical problem, maybe ECU or ECU reflash. What baffled them is you can very obviously feel the misfire, however the scanner doesn't show misfires. They said if it was something serious (loss of compression) the scanner should record the misfire.

I ended up scheduling an appointment with the dealer. As others have posted, I have a sinking feeling it's the fuel injectors. A bottle of techron significantly improves it.

Hi, can you give any more info? How difficult was it to replace the injectors? I removed the intake manifold to do the walnut blast so I figure that's 999% of the way there? Do you know the troubleshooting process to determine it was your injectors, or was it a guess?

I'm at my wits end. Dealer claims "tech tool reports 0 misfires, no fault found, normal operation". When the car is cold started you can very distinctively feel it misfiring, it's enough to shake the car. Other than this issue I like the vehicle, I would hate to trade it in over this.

Update... Dealer determined that they believe it has a leaking fuel injector on one cylinder. I'm having them replace all of the injectors while it's there.
