  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Here's an aha moment for some of you...

Has anyone dealt with the glare coming off of the raised frame from the heads-up display on the driver-side windshield dashboard on a sunny day? For me it is the most annoying thing to deal with on the windshield! The glare is exactly at eye level. Just so we're all on the same page it has nothing to do with having the heads-up display on or off. The glare is coming directly from the frame around the heads up display that extends out from the dashboard. If you have experienced this, have you found a fix for it? Any advice would surely be appreciated.

I had the same problem on my 2017 G90 and have the same situation on my 2020 G90, but I have gotten used to it and no longer rind the reflection to be a distraction.

I think that is the best ansswer. You get used to it and it oes away. If you keep lookin for it, it will drive you nuts. It is pretty low on the windshield.

I noticed this when I first drove my '18 G80 5.0. I was able to get rid of it by adjusting the height of the heads-up display in the menu. Just play around raising the display up and you might get rid of it like I did.

Yes, no more glare and an invisible heads-up display.
You can rotate the heads-up display so that you can actually see it with polarizied lenses

You may not be understanding where my glare is coming from. The glare is from the raise frame off the dashboard that goes around the heads-up display. Not the actual heads-up(so having it on or off is irrelevant). The frame is made of shiny plastic. The same color as the dashboard. when the sun hits the horizontal side of the frame that's closest to the steering wheel. It will reflect a glare onto the windshield itself. I will have to take a picture one of these days and post it. Then you may understand what I'm talking about.

Yes, I understand. This is what mine was doing when I first got it. When changing the height of the display thru the menu settings, I think it changes the angle of the frame. Give it a try, it takes only a minute or so; maybe it'll help.

Noticed it this morning driving into the sun. Probably has been there but your mentioning it made me more aware.

I made a left turn at the end of the street and it disappeared. So, next time it bothers you, just make a left turn. You may be late wherever you are going but at least you won't be distracted.

I don’t see a towel on the dash.

YES..I thought it was me....That piece should be covered with whatever is on the rest of the dash....its a small piece of shiny plastic...My glare comes and goes depending on time of day and sun position....I've played with my seat position, but I'd need to be in a totally different position...not good... Shouldn't be shiny....its an oversight that is annoying everyday, but I'll figure out how to deal with it.

Design flaw, I get it on both my G80 & 90. I tried adjusting height and angle of the display - still there.

Double side a piece of Fabric on there? Sharpie? Moleskin? Gaffer tap? Sand paper?
