  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My 2015 Ultimate AWD no longer responds to Siri when I press the steering wheel button. I think the change. Any be tied to the new IOS 14. Since the car is the more expensive Ultimate, it lacks Carplay, so to make hands-free phone calls while driving, the Siri capability is important.
anyone else out there with the Ultimate and an iPhone? please respond, and note which version of IOS you have and whether Siri works on the Ultimate

thanks

Check your phone settings.

Settings —> General —> Siri.

disconnect from the car
Turn all the Siri settings off, then back on

connect to car and retry.

While I have a 2018 with Carplay, iOS 14 did break/disable the Siri connection both on the phone (pressing and holding the side button and “hey Siri” and on the car (pressing and holding the voice button which mimics pressing the side button on the phone).

Siri didn’t work on either for me until I turned it off an back on, there are several threads on the Apple forums regarding this and the above procedure.

Thanks. I will try and then give update

My iPhone does not have a Settings/General/Siri
Settings/Accessibility does show Siri, but does not show the ability to turn off then on

Have IOS 14.1 update on my iPhone and Siri works fine, have not tried it in the car yet.

Update:
My phone said14.1 iOS but I noticed a update notification on the settings icon on my phone, on checking iOS 14.1 was waiting to be installed...yeh weird! Anyways went ahead and installed it and sure enough Siri on the phone stopped working. Took your advice and shut everything off and turned it back on and now Siri works fine on my iPhone but not it seems in the car,16’ Ultimate.
Need to double check to be sure the Bluetooth is connected as that I believe is needed also.

might have to delete the phone from the car and re-pair it to the car, I believe that iOS 14 included some firmware updates to the radios for BT, Wi-Fi and Cellular.

I use Carplay so BT is not in play for me, but I know that my wife's Camry has Siri Eyes Free or whatever the hell it is through BT and we had to unmarry her iphone and re-pair it to the car for Siri to come back..

damn OS updates.

Thanks Mr I
Will look into doing that. Actually my only interaction with Siri was once when a driver cut me off and I used some very unflattering language.
Siri came up all by herself and scolded me for it lol.
Think it said that wasn’t necessary sir’ or words to that effect.
Told her to mind her own damn business! Lol

been there, I curse at Alexa all the time, especially when she doesn't seem to understand a simple command.
