How to update Multimedia Genesis software

You CANNOT add the ability to play bluetooth music through software. That's a hardware issue. No one adds the hardware without the software as you need to put the firmware on to "install" it.

No. That's not how the system works. You can only use it for phone calls. The system is not capable of streaming audio as a multimedia player as it lacks the ability to transcode ad2p. It will never get the ability. It's just how it is. The base entry level system (WITHOUT) the jog dial can stream audio but lacks other features. Just enjoy the car. And if Bluetooth audio is soooo important to you, then get an fm Bluetooth transmitter. That will play the audio from your phone over the cars stereo. Can you not just plug your phone via USB/audio jack to play the audio through aux? Those are really going to be your only options.

I'm aware he has a DIS (Jog dial system) and not the base model. That's exactly what I explained. It just seems that the OP just doesn't want to believe any of us who have given all the info needed. Oh well, what can you do? Wish them the best of luck I guess.

Your car is not obsolete. You say it came from the UAE. Surely a dealer there can answer your questions. Try the telephone.

I have the same car and even in the USA there wasn't an update or anything that addressed the issue to be able to stream audio from Bluetooth. Something to do with how it was designed and it simply wont work.

Also note that the firmware update to this car requires the car to be left with the deal for hours and I have to sign a release as the updates have in many instances damaged the entire unit like when updating maps and so for out of warranty cars the dealers are no longer doing the work without a release when I looked into this issue last year.

Yes, odd that the ‘12 Technology package lacked Bluetooth streaming audio. The ‘12 basic model and the ‘12 Premium package touchscreen model (like mine) do have Bluetooth streaming audio.

Short answer... NO.
Long answer, as we've already told you, go to the dealership. That's your only choice. Unless you have a base model or the touchscreen, you won't get Bluetooth streaming no matter what you do. So we HAVE helped you. You just don't like the answer.

1. connect your phone to multimedia system via Blutooth. (use 2 SIM card Phone)(in android : Connection >> SIM card manager >>calls >> Ask always)
2. press the phone key to call with somebody. screen will show >>connecting<<
3. on your phone : Do not select SIM1 or SIM2 --->NEXT STEP
4. Play music on your phone.
5. FINISH. music will play on your car multimedia system.

I've got a 2012 Genesis 5.0 RSpec and had a 2010 4.8 L before that. In both I play hires files off my phone by attaching a BT DAC (shanling UP2, UP4, Fiio Btr 5, etc) in the aux in port. It sounds amazing on this sound system streaming LDAC into the aux port. Sadly, I'm just upgrading to 2023 G80 and theres no aux port so the streaming audio quality is going down because the Lexicon system on takes SBC and AAC

You can buy the DVD set for map upgrade which includes firmware upgrade. The map upgrade requires a dealer code to install; the firmware upgrade does not.

This upgrade does not add bluetooth music streaming.
