  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So I installed these 20mm spacers a few days ago DYNOFIT 20MM SPACERS and wheel shakes more the faster I go. I've never installed spacers before I did tighten them very hard like to the point where I couldn't really tighten more even if I wanted to Don't know if that's a bad thing. I see people say tighten them 70lbs or 90lbs But how would you even know how to do that. I have a handheld wrench, I can't afford some fancy tool that shows tightening weight or what not. What do I do?

Probably nothing as Amazon gets this kind of thing wrong all the time, but as soon as I visited your link I got this warning (I have my 2020 G70 Sport registered in Amazon):

In any case, if it's vibrating it doesn't sound safe; perhaps take it to a wheel and tire place?

Ya, I saw that too but I found out about these through this forum few people said they use them with no issues plus in the reviews, a lot of them are from g70 owners. Do you have wheel spacers?

I do not, sorry. I'm sticking with boring stock wheels and suspension this go-around.

It just looks so flushed and stanced with the spacers, gonna be tough letting them go but I didn't buy a $50,000 luxury sedan so that my wheel would shake when I drive like it's an old Carola flying 100mph

Torque wrenches start at about $25. Maybe you can't afford NOT to have one if your car is vibrating.

It is not just torque but the pattern to tighten too. You may have overtightened and cause some warp. It is also possible some spacers are not sitting properly.

I see a couple of choices. Go to a mechanic or tire shop and have them remove and replace them properly. It will probably cost more than a torque wrench

You can buy the proper tool and re-do them yourself. Look for a YouTube video if you are not sure how to do it. Though it seems simple enough you can screw it up. I'd also check that you did not knock off any balance weights too.

Thanks for the advice! I will probably go to a mechanic.

I had a similar problem with my last vehicle with aftermarket wheels. It did not need spacers, but did have a horrible vibration once I put the new wheels on. Road-force wheel-balancing didn't solve the issue. Since I bought both the wheels and tires from Discount Tire, I basically took it back to them and said, "Wheels or tires- you figure it out!" And they did.. it ended up being that there was a manufacturing defect in one of my aftermarket wheels and that ended up being the source of the vibration.

In general I spent a lot more time and money in tire and alignment shops than I was comfortable with; which is why I am keeping everything stock henceforth. I do agree with your earlier point though- these cars look amazing when stanced a bit with the wheels pushed-out a bit (kinda how Audis and BMWs come from the factory).

Wheel torq might be the issue, but I’d bet you have a less than concentric spacer on a tire so it’s not turning in a true perfect circle. A wheel shop that has on the car balancing using a strobe will spot the issue easily. They roll up a device that spins the wheel and using a strobe it spots out of balance and or out of round conditions. Worth a try if you want to help pinpoint the issue.

seems rather contradictory..

can't afford a $30 tool but bought a $50K vehicle and now complaining about vibration caused by $65 spacers. mmkay..
