I spoke to a dealer today about the extended warranty and told me it only covers glass shattering. I know he was full of it and I sent a email to Hyundai. We will see what comes from it
The above TSB spells out EXACTLY what is covered, it is the glass and the moving assembly that holds the glass
GENESIS (DH) Panorama Roof Moving Glass Assembly part #s
The warranty s rather specific that it covers glass breakage only. A quote from the brochure in the mail
"Please note the extended warranty only applies to instances related to glass breakage."
It goes on to say water leaks, motor function, excessive force applied are NOT covered unless they are related to glass breakage.
Covered if from the shattered glassThe above TSB spells out EXACTLY what is covered, it is the glass and the moving assembly that holds the glass
That does suck !Unreal. Hyundai/Genesis should cover this at 100%, including squeaks and rattles. Poorly designed. Let's hope the next generation G80 doesn't have this.
At what mileage? I was told by the Hillsboro OR Hyundai dealer it was only covered to 3 yr/36K, which I passed before I bought this '15. I'm under warranty for a few thousand more miles and another month for the 5 yr/50K.Local dealer, Sussman Hyundai, has taken care of several issues under warranty, including pano replacement for squeaks/rattles; involves complete replacement of pano roof and windsheild. FYI, I bought my 2015 used at another Genesis dealer.
I don't see any exclusion for the pano roof. Only paint and some electronics. At what mileage? I was told by the Hillsboro OR Hyundai dealer it was only covered to 3 yr/36K, which I passed before I bought this '15. I'm under warranty for a few thousand more miles and another month for the 5 yr/50K.
So, do we believe that the TSB is a charge item? Or is it dealer-by-dealer, some charge, some don't?
And, more importantly, do we believe that the TSB fixes the noises?
Call corporate. Most dealers refuse to touch the pano without being forced to by corporate. I have had both the rails replaced on one of my Hyundai's and a completely new pano replaced on another. Both times I had to get corporate involved.Apologies for bumping this up - but did anyone have any success speaking to Hyundai to replace the pano roof under warranty without the glass shattering? Dropped my car off at the dealership last week and was told that the roof rails are "bent" and there was nothing they could do since the "recall" could only be leveraged if the glass shattered. The roof currently does not close properly and the motor "clicks" when trying to do so.
Thanks! Appreciate the quick response and will contact corporate as my next step.Call corporate. Most dealers refuse to touch the pano without being forced to by corporate.
