  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

i have a 2016 3.8 sedan. the oil light has been on for about two weeks now. i just changed the oil and oil filter about four days ago and the light is still on. the light only comes on when the car is idling. whenever i give it gas it goes off. any thoughts on what the issue might be?

Low oil pressure can cause it. How many miles? Could also be the sending unit.

Oil pressure does go down at idle but I don't know what the point is to set off the light and you need a gauge to see what the real pressure it.

It would be wise to have a dealer look at it. Maybe it's the sending unit, or maybe it's something else.....Isn't it still under the 10 year/100,000 mile warranty??
If you bought it used, isn't the engine still covered for 5 years??
I wouldn't run a car with the oil pressure light on. (even at idle) I'd have it towed to the dealer.
