  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hyundai service department in my town says that Hyundai doesn't make remote start available for any model with a push button start. Does anyone have any suggestions or things that have worked for them?
Thanks!

Were they talking about after market? I'm on my thrid Hyundai vehicle with push button start AND remote start via the Blue Link app.

My 2009 doesn't have Blue Link... it's just the standard smart key and push button start.

My '13 r-spec came with a remote start package. The remote start feature required an additional key fob and both need are needed. One fob is the oem and the second is the remote start fob which has all the same buttons as the original, but with the addition of the remote start button. The remote start fob however doesn't have the security proximity within it, so both are needed. It's a Hyundai branded remote too.

Hey do a search. Aftermarket remote start/alarm can be installed as long as the installer knows exactly what he/she is doing....

I would not go back to them. My friend who owns a shop installs them all day. GTRs, Infinitys, etc...I even install them....again it is all about the KNOWLEDGE of the installer.

I HATE the idea of carrying another key fob for remote start.

My boss has the Drone Mobile (remote start via APP) for his 2012 Genesis Sedan R-Spec.

I feel the same way you do. I have yet to install mine. I am thinking of rigging my factory remote and adding the CHIP to the aftermarket remote. Hyundai is so finiky about new replacement FOBs since they give you 2 automatically. Just in case i destroy one. :)

That looks great but in the pictures it shows a device that connects like an OBD Reader. Do you know if that's used just for the tracking part? I assume you need a bit more to actually get the remote start to work, or don't you?

Is there a way to get more than the ten minutes the blue link systems allows for remote start run time?

I have a 2015 Geneiss 3.8 sedan, with push start and I use my remote start functions all the time.

I have a 2015 Genesis 3.8 AWD sedan...Is there a way to direct the remote start to turn on my steering wheel heat, seat heat and to change from defrost to front and foot vents? As of now, I have not seen any adjustments other than duration and temperature of defrost. Thanks

Sorry, can't be done. You can have heat vents and defrost vents but not the front vents normally. I don't know if you set your climate control manually to those vents before shutting down if it would start that way. Try it tonight and let us know.

Have tried to set front vents and remote makes the defrost actuate. Not a huge deal tho. thanks

Hi

Yes you actually can ask the installer to add those request to a channel. Most alarms/remote starts have extra channels you can program things on. Example, you can program like channel 4 and press a combo button to turn on any accessory in your car. NOW this will make your install $$$$$$$. The installer will have to figure out how to tap into those accessories. Just some food for thought.

Sure, with enough time and money we can put a man on the moon too. The present system also goes trough the BlueLink servers so it has to be compatible with whatever signal passes there. With the present app and relay setup in the car the home user is not doing it.

Let us know when you have achieved the asked for goal and some of the guys here will pay you a few bucks to do their car too.

May be a way. If the need is really there just check out DEI or their partners to see what add-ons are available. If there is a will there is a way :)

Any information on how to update & Use the Blue Link App? I downloaded the App and registered and tried to set up my new used 2014 and its not working. Should I go to the dealership for this? Thank you
